SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I honestly didn't realise the squad was this thin until I looked it up on .com this morning.

I cannot understand for one second why, when the season is 2 days away, we haven't even replaced the players who have left let alone strengthened other areas. Patience is pretty much out of the window now.

Why does it suprise you? This is exactly what happened in the summer of 2011. Don't worry though we will sign quality on the final day, such as Park Chu Young and Santos.

It cannot be fathomed by those who haven't worked half a day in football, it remains unknowable to us mere mortals.

Still, Arsene Knows :barscarf:

Does Tomas have any idea why Gustavo would want to go to Wolfsburg?

To go from the European Champions to a team where your previous team mates are going to give you a good thrashing, along with a number of other clubs, seems crazy. It's difficult to look good in a mediocre team, particularly if your competitors for a national team spot are with bigger clubs, winning matches.

However, even if Gustavo is a bit strange, if we lose out on him AW and the Board need shooting. We should have made a good offer, quickly, one that a mid-table German side couldn't compete with, so that Gustavo didn't have the option of Wolfsburg.

Wenger made a big thing of saying how stressful 2011 was so I don't understand why it's been allowed to happen again.

With the CL qualifier coming and the chance of injuries being high for certain players, I just can't comprehend it. :?

He did (although he still didn't acknowledge that it was his fault for burying his head in the sand for months).

But he has also said on multiple occasions about the last week being when the window really gets going, thinking it's the best time to buy players, and even claims that the market has not come to life yet at times when our domestic and continental rivals have all made signings and our potential signings are waning in number every week.

By what time would Flamini (or anyone else) have to register to play v Villa?

Kicker saying that Wolfsburg is paying 20 Million Euros for Gustavo to Bayern, something Arsenal was not willing to pay.

 WTF is going on? how stupid can one be? 20 Million Euros is a bargin for these kind of defensiv midfield player, I honestly can't belive it  !

Cheers,
Thomas

Who would have thought a question like this would be relevant when Gazidis was blowing hot air out his hole last June?

Its the Arsenal way, never exceeding that 15 million mark, its pathetic, and this season, will see Wenger exposed for the muppet he is.
