Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Plus the fact that we're happy to shell out £15m for an unproven kid from League One  :banghead:

Dunno about option to buy but Graeme Bailey at Sky Sports is reporting it now too.
Get in. Gan on Quinny/ Bruce, make this fucking happen please. Linked with fucking Peter Crouch earlier, if we end up with Bendtner I'll be delighted. Only thing is I'd rather we signed him (we were quoted £10m for 30 year old Crouch, pay similar for Bendtner who is younger and better and it'd be a cracking deal). If all we can get is a loan with no option to buy then its a shame but its still better than getting landed with Crouch and paying £10m for the "privilege"

Not trying to be a prick but we didn't spend £15M on that kid. We probably paid WELL less than 10M up front. The rest will be add-ons related to him playing x amount of games/playing for England etc.

If you look at the things that Nasri has said i think you'd place the blame at the Board's door rather than Wenger:

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11670_7138491,00.html
"But it is not Arsene Wenger, it is the club's politics, the officials.

"Arsenal doesn't have the same funds. They can't make the same coups as before in the transfer market. They are rather forced to sell their best players and bet on young ones."

Nasri was asked about why did not extend his contract at Arsenal last year, but explained: "Why didn't I extend at Arsenal last autumn? They made me an offer and my advisers made another one.

"In this last one there was a clause that Arsenal officials didn't really accept.

"Then, it lasted. When they came back to offer me again in June, I made my decision. In my mind I wanted to leave, above all after the very difficult end to last season and I also already had nice contacts.

"At first Arsene Wenger wanted to keep me. Then, both clubs needed time to agree a transfer fee.

Oh Nasri...you sneaky little bastard...I see when he mentions the clause he wanted to put in his new humungous contract he doesn't say what it was...What's the betting that clause was something along the lines of having his cake and eating it...i'm guessing it was something to do with allowing him to move on whenever he wanted to whoever he wanted and for a fee of no more than his choosing...standard fare for players that don't really want to stay, add ridiculous clauses that are totally unacceptable then blame the club...I'll bet he didn't add that clause in to his new Citeh contract...

Lets be honest it's a case of the grass is greener..greed, ambition... anything else he says should be taken as no more than playing to the gallery, telling people what they want to here to cover up the fact he is nothing more than a greedy, sneaky, little bastard...

As for us being forced to sell our best players..again what nonsense, almost every decent player that has left in the last few years has forced a move as ironically he did...

why are we letting bendtner go on loan? :banghead:

im being serious, the squad we've currently got he'd be a very useful player to at least bring on! besides we all know ho injury prone RVP is.

another mistake in my opinion, sorry but park chu youngs goal scoring record dosn't fill me up with confidence either...and thats in FRANCE.

News reaching me that Wenger has cancelled the pizza he ordered tonight, after he heard he'd actually have to pay for it.
