Also says he would like to sign Suarez but only if it can be done amicably and that he has to respect Liverpool's decision. So no, then.

Another one to cross off Wenger transfer bingo: the market hasn't kicked into action yet.
"I am confident. You look at many teams around us. Nothing has happened until now. At the moment the market hasn't moved a lot. Apart from Manchester City, nobody has done anything."
Somebody better tell him that Spurs, Chelsea, Barcelona, PSG, Monaco, Napoli, Juventus, Fiorentina, Dortmund and Atletico Madrid have also all bought forwards so far, not to mention Madrid and Bayern spending over £30m apiece on attacking midfielders to add to City's signings. Only about £350m worth of attacking players gone so far this window...

I wonder why none of the journalists ever take him up on this offer. I assume we won the title last season then with these players we have who have no superiors.Dan_85 wrote:I presume everyone read the comments from Professor Crackpot's latest presser whilst the forum was down?

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
I see in reaction to the potential Gareth Bale transfer, Wenger is bleating on about FFP again and the unfairness of it all. Yet this is the same man who knows the owners of PSG (having worked for Al Jazeera TV) and who helped them set up the deal to buy the club.
Strangely though, there is not a word of complaint from Wenger about the money his beloved PSG have spent this summer (nor about his former club Monaco for that matter). On the contrary, Wenger is in favour of the whole thing because he says France needed a big club. Tell that to the supporters and owners of the other French clubs who now cannot compete.
The man is a hypocrite of mammoth proportions.

He'll happily complain about the silly money football clubs spend on signing and paying players yet year after year happily trousers £140,000 a week despite no success and no progression.

Hello all, long time lurker, first time contributing. I have to say that, like many on this board it seems, I have become very disillusioned with not just Wenger, but the board. I think the main reason I signed up here now was because I stumbled onto a blog and made a few comments, and was hounded out simply because I dared to question Wenger!
Hoping that this place is a lot more open to the views I have! Looking forward to finally contributing

You are correct. Wenger moans about "finacially doped" clubs in England because, he feels, they are impeding his *insert Deity here* given right to win the league.Clash wrote:I see in reaction to the potential Gareth Bale transfer, Wenger is bleating on about FFP again and the unfairness of it all. No need to moan about French clubs, yet.
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Indeed mate, it seems Wenger (and the club) are happy to make a stand against the extortionate prices of modern football when it comes to spending ... but quite happy to benefit from it when it comes to what they charge, what the receive and what they all earn in salaries.northbank123 wrote:He'll happily complain about the silly money football clubs spend on signing and paying players yet year after year happily trousers £140,000 a week despite no success and no progression.
For me, this is where their whole moral stance crumbles and make them look greedy and self-serving.
Only the fans it seems have had to make sacrifices. It is as though we have been asked to be patient and put our dreams of competing on hold for a while (whilst still being charged Grade A prices of course) yet nobody at the club seems to think they should have made any personal or professional sacrifices with regards to their salaries or their positions within the club.
Wenger has described the last few years as a ''sensitive period'' financially. Not for him it hasn't been. As most on here will have no doubt seen, Kevin Whitcher used this quote from Wenger in January 2009 in his latest Gooner editorial:
''I am on a very good contract. I am one of the few managers who make money for my club every year. That is the most important. I will tell you something, if I will not make money for the club, I would not be on a very good contract''.

If you don't like the board, have lost faith in Wenker & wish for change at the Arsenal you'll fit right in.Jonny_Gooner wrote:Hello all, long time lurker, first time contributing. There are still a fair few Wenker supporters on here but it's all good banter
