The reason I said it was selective was purely based on my recollection at the time. As he walked off, from where I was all he got was abuse an jeering until he disappeared down the tunnel. I agree that the home crowd are more subdued than away and I also know this to be the case for every ground I have ever been to. The atmosphere on Saturday was louder than most as is the case with the derbies and other specific games and my point, as I have already said, was that the picture seemed to isolate a section of the crowd who had already jeered him and now were turning their attention to our injured chap on the field. I can assure you the abuse continued on the tunnel side until he left the field.franksav63 wrote:
How is it selective? So most of the ground were going nuts... except for that exact section of the ground? It doesn't matter what way you cut it, our crowd are far too placid for their own good, I thought he should have got even more stick than he did, I thought he got off far too lightly but that's just par for the course with our home crowd, who would rather clap and applaud contract rebels, crocks, useless *word censored* like Eboue and lazy *word censored* like Adebayor when in his last year at our club, apparently I've heard the crowd gave him stick then he may have got a little stick but it was nowhere as bad as it should have been, our crowd need to get far more nasty and make it a more intimidating atmosphere.

and further to thata, having just reread your post . YES I did clap eboue and would never abuse an Arsenal Player whilst he played for us, during the game. If I'm a sinner for that then I have probably got this supporting lark wrong

Not a sinner, but not special either. If the players aren't performing, give them stick. Way it's always been and hopefully the way it continues.Steve_I wrote:and further to thata, having just reread your post . Here, here Arsey... and I rest my case also on our placid, anything goes, easily pleased crowd.arseofacrow wrote:Not a sinner, but not special either. I have never abused an Arsenal player for not performing, or having a bad game, missing a chance. Did anyone abuse Dennis for not scoring the pen against Man U in the FA cup replay '99? Not me.
I feel vindicated to give players abuse on a forum, but never, NEVER during a game.
Re: Spuds game
I appreciate your view although I did also respond an answer to your question "how is that selective".franksav63 wrote:

Any home crowd is similar. The quieter parts of the ground however, in my opinion, has a large percentage of those who whinge and complain about players. Who abuse individuals throughout. The Noisy parts of the ground and, I believe, those that make up a good percentage of away fans too, tend to sing and shout support throughout whatever their specific views or opinions on individual players, the board, the manager etc etc.
Please, simply because I choose not to abuse our own players during a game, do not tell me I am a placid easily pleased fan... I am far from that.

This I agree with
Re: Spuds game
I STOOD in the Clock End the entire game, we were far from placid! If only every game's atmosphere was like that!

who picks which arseholes to nick?
Does anybody even read my posts anymore (please dont answer that) ? I know bale looks like a monkey and thats why he is referred to that way but what I was saying is that I do worry that some fool might think that I am calling gallas, lennon, sandro or some other player a monkey and then sparks would fly

There is a big difference between DB10 though (legend) and comedy eboue (bell end).Top Londoner wrote:Steve_I wrote:and further to thata, having just reread your post . Re: Spuds game
Reagrding the pic of Adebayor walking off, I would say it was not as fervent as you would expect, as it was 0-1 at that point, so many were more concerned by that, instead of giving him the absolue dogs abuse that he would have got had he been sent off at, say, 4-1 up.
My immediate concern was that it was a nice bonus, and I gave him plenty as he went off, but I was straight back to worrying about how and when we were gonna get back in the game.
