The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Blind's been linked to Spurs too. Basically he's off but nobody knows where he's going so it's rumours galore.

Schneiderlin desperately trying to force his way out of Southampton. Probably the footballing equivalent of everyone else handing in their holiday forms at once and you're stuck.

Vela: 12m
Fabregas 5m
Djourou 2.5m
Lansbury 1.5m
Eisfield 1m
Verm 15m

We've made 37m so far from mainly sell ons & we spent 68m in fees so 31m in excess.

We should have atleast another 120m in transfer budget.
Fixed that for you mate.

Barcelona deal for Vermaelen will be 15M plus 2 million if Barcelona win a CL in next 5 years.

But all things being right, two of those three signings will be back up players so has the team improved that much really ?[/quote]

I think Ospina will win his place, Chambers too.

Ches really has to work hard to keep Ospina out i think. i've watched the vids of both ospina and chambers - both very mature assured players.

Respect Sir. At least you asked a bit differently from the others.

A bit of history for the colour choice:

On one of the first forum I joined, I wanted to be able to identify my posts from others (and to add some difference to my posts). Funny enough I used maroon first, only for another member to pm me saying he was mixing his posts with mine. He said he was using that colour (maroon) first and asked me kindly to choose another colour. Most other colours were taken so I chose teal. Have been using teal ever since on that forum and about 5 other forums I joined since.

Anyways, back to footy - I hope we are still looking at some more personnel to get us to be as competitive as ever.

Peace

Mascherano also fits the bill but is just as unattainable as Martinez - probably even more so considering how shambolic Barca look at the back.

If we can sign casillas and a striker like falcao or ballotelli then we will be a major force this season in all competitions. We have the cash, JFDI.I think we have enough cover for DM n CB at the club already. Obviously, Khedira would be quality but don't think we'll get him, unless ozil can work his charm. Imagine a front 4 of ozil, Theo, Alexis n Falcao...un-fucking-stoppable

Why on earth should we sign Casillas?
