Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Gents,
Gotta be the first time this place has gone into a meltdown before midday on a Sunday
Shouldn't we all still be in bed sleeping off the effects of last night's beer?
I have seen nothing racist about any of the comments, and if Spendsum wants to play Sanogo in midfield then let him, it's his Championship Manager game.
If Arsene happens to look in through Spendsum's window and gets inspired to make the tactical decision of the decade, well, just hope Spendsum takes a consultancy fee.

It was a joke.OneBardGooner wrote:It is an innate part of the survival instinct to assess what one see's - the size, shape, colour of something - to say you don't 'see it' is not quite true, you may not consciously include it in your 'reading, registering and assessing a situation or other being' - which of course is how it should be, as we try to remove those old instilled lenses we were taught to see through - But to say you don't see his colour - is n fact an insult to the man.spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:Oh is Sanogo black? I hadn't noticed because I dont see race, I just see humans.
If you were to go out on any street and ask a passer-by to describe him - they may hesitate about mentioning the fact that he is black - because of not wanting to appear having any racist attitudes in how they percive someone - But it is part of how he is seen and recognised, furthermore you seem - by imlication of your words - negate the obvious that he is black - personally I don't give a shyte about his colour, creed, shape, height etc etc - What I AM interested in (as I would hope all Gooners are) is can he play football?
*For many hundreds of years Western and European cultures have been indoctrinated with racist attitudes and beliefs which sadly and regrettably not disappear overnight - as much as we want it to.*
[edit]
I remember listening to a prog on Radio4 about different cultures and beliefs and it came around to how a) we see, percieve and describe our self, and how we then use the same criteria when percieving another person - and we use the exct same 'tools' - it may not be conscious, but it something we do none the less - because of the indoctrination we have undergone, and that we are slowly changing within our psyche (personal, social and cultural).
anyway.

The world has gone mad I grew up in East London and most of my pals are black and if asked will say there black. I'm currently sitting in the Bahamas thought I'd check out any transfer news and see there's a discussion on that going on, maybe rename the page the politically correct summer 2014 transfer thread......

If anyone has the house to themselves turn on SSN immediately. The glorious Natalie is on, sporting an uber tight pink dress with a plunging neckline that is displaying her ample bosom to the nation. I think I may be about to splash out once more during this transfer window
