There are no rumours about Mertesacker joining Arsenal these days...
I don´t know how slow Samba is, but Mertesacker had his worst season and I doubt he will find his form at Arsenal, where is no defense coaching at all :banghead:

Samba failed at a trial session at Hertha BSC Berlin some years ago, did you know :?:
Ya Ya Toure failed one at Arsenal
iirc thats because mr fuckface played him upfront

But interesting line in that "article";

With Nicklas Bendtner having declared his intention to quit the Emirates, Wenger is hunting a top-class marksman to give some cutting edge to his team’s play.

Good to see Wenger is not intending to replace like with like then... :D

I'ld take him if though mainly just to piss off Spurs. Maybe a Diaby-Defoe swap please!

He lacks a lot outside the box, but if we wanted someone to sniff about and score goals he'ld be certainly useful. In our team I could see him getting 15 or so goals.

It won't happen though.

4 goals last season. Him coming to us is like us laughing at them for having Bendnter or denilson.

Dont want the *word censored* at arsenal

Again you have to look at the season and the factors. He had a bad injury that kept him out for the first half of the season. He then struggled to get back into the team given Redknapps love of long ball football and that having been injured Spurs did pretty well so 'Arry kept the same team.

Just ebcause a player has a bad season doesn't make him a bad player. Look at Torres. Would you not sign him because he didn't score very many last year?

Tbh I rate defoe as a striker as well and I would love to see wenger bring in a striker with real pace (only after he signs two quality CB's and a quality DM though) but as I said before, I would be worried about his chav like demeanour cos the last thing we need is another "up his own arse" type of player (no puns please)

If we get Ricky Gervais can we get Drogba please?!

1) Love we don't but he a great player and could easly play upfront alone. Has pace and scores for fun...
2) It would stop him FUCKING SCORING AGAINST US!!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Ha I was talking about this to a mate of mine. If he came up I'ld snap Drogba up in a minute.

News (but not about us) PV4 has been released by Citeh after choosing not to renew his contact.

I can't understand why anyone would want Defoe. If we want to use a small quick guy we have Theo. He scored twice as many goals as Defoe last season and will continue to get better. Defoe has passed his peak (which wasn't good enough for us then and defintiely isn't now) and is only going to get worse.
