Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)
Re: Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)
I think some are being too harsh on Welbeck. I have not been able to see him live but on the live games I have watched on tv he seems to be a bit unlucky in front of goals with his attempts either being saved, or defender gets the block in, but I can recall a few occasions where his blocked attempts have fallen for another player to score from. Admittedly, his scoring rate is not where it should but you can't compare him to Wrighty as he (Wright) played in the same position throughout the season. When did Graham ever ask Wrighty to play on the wing? Welbeck plays across the front 3 during a match. Play him in the same position for a whole season and he will score but under wenger that will never happen.

The flip side of that of course, is that if he was/is as prolific and lethal as wrighty was, then no manager would play him on the wing

aren't you forgetting we have a cretinous manager who plays every fucker on the wing unless they are French and/or have the scoring record of Henry, has giroud ever played on the wing, has sanogo,no they start as a cf,cos they are French, everybody else i.e walnut, pod, arshavin the list goes on get played wide then everybody moans they are crap, its only walnut who had a prolific run in the team who managed to adapt to that position, fingers crossed he hits the ground running when hes fit againaugie wrote:Nos89 wrote:I think some are being too harsh on Welbeck. Other great 'wingers' under Wenger include Eboue, Cesc, Gilberto and Bendtner...markyp wrote: aren't you forgetting we have a cretinous manager who plays every fucker on the wing unless they are French and/or have the scoring record of Henry, has giroud ever played on the wing, has sanogo,no they start as a cf,cos they are French, everybody else i.e walnut, pod, arshavin the list goes on get played wide then everybody moans they are crap, its only walnut who had a prolific run in the team who managed to adapt to that position, fingers crossed he hits the ground running when hes fit again

I'm still very positive about the boy. Yep he's no world beater but I still think that a continuing run in the team can only benefit him and us.
Great attitude and work ethic and overall I'm happy

Yes, compared to some of out other non contributing and lazy players, he's doing a relatively good job.Eboue-Why? wrote:I'm still very positive about the boy. Yep he's no world beater but I still think that a continuing run in the team can only benefit him and us.

he's good enough as a squad player but should never be starting every game like he does now. at least not for a team that (should) have title aspirations.

Unfortunately, the same can be said for Flamini, Arteta, Monreal, Mertasacker, + Sczeczney at least.Yankee_Gooner_Dandee wrote:he's good enough as a squad player but should never be starting every game like he does now. at least not for a team that (should) have title aspirations.
