SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Presumably the put a bullet in Wenger's head thing was a weak attempt at a joke.
It wasn't funny.
At all.
I dont condone violence, but i can see why fans hate Wenger. He has become such a dictator, that he feels he can speak down to fans, and make certain comments, which in my opinion are unacceptable. Only yesterday, he blamed the fans for Gervinho's poor performances at the club. Even the press are not permitted to ask difficult questions, or Wenger will behave like a child :banghead:

Our best signing this season will probably be Gareth Bale going to madrid. :banghead:

anybody who says they want to kill a sportsperson because of their performance or management is an idiot
Clear to me those statements would not be repeated in public - simple keyboard cowardice.

The issue is over for me.
He's blocked so I no longer have to read Bard's BS.

I'm pissed off we still haven't signed anyone.
Can guarantee we will and when we do, they will be written off here as 'panic buys'.
Wenger has made a rod for his own back in that respect.

JD and OneBard. We get it, lads - you don't like each other. So please stop replying to each other. It's pissing our other regulars off. I don't want to be going around warning or banning people (and neither do the other mods, except REB, who is a total banwankaholic  ).

JD - it was very obvious that OBG wasn't saying Wenger should be murdered. He quoted a throw away line from 1989. Don't take everything so literally.

Any more bitching keep it to PM or I'll delete it.

I think it was 96/97 when after siging Lukic back on a free and being linked with many players we signed no one and had no manager. This was the time that Sheringham was quoted as saying they were "having a laugh at the Arsenal" due to our crisis.
Even though it felt like a crisis at the time it did turn out okay. This time however I think we are in the shit.
Is this the equivelent of preparing for a long car drive by having bald tyres, broken windscreen wipers, negligible brake pads, exhaust manifold scraping the tarmac, and a broken tail light, yet still insisting it will be fine, while having a disposable £1m in the trunk?
Keep it civil chaps, its only a game, we dont want another shutdown.
Come what may I still cant wait to see them tomorrow, neither can most of you lot, and you knows it!

Gustavo and suarez gone.

i'm just glad next season a new chapter for arsenal opens up without lord wenger. I dare them to announce a contract extension when we finish trophyless and 4th/5th.

No scratch that. :rubchin:

I can imagine 4th will be marketed as a great achievement at the end of 2014 season.

Just make sure he doesn't sign whatever happens.

Didn't we sign Bergkamp and Platt in 96/97?

Shows how bad it's got that people are furious we missed out on a DM.
I think there are plenty of options up front let alone as DM!

You'd need a fcuking wheel barrow to get that tome out the door of WH Smiths
