When Ronaldo got kicked at 20/21 years old he got up & beat the man the next time. Unfortunately Reyes went missing after Nevilles GBH on him at OT in 04/05. Real shame
Exactly Nice Guy, nobody's doubting his technical ability but as most players by and large have the same physical attributes it's pretty obvious that sport is 90% between the ears, what makes people winners is mental strength!
I liked Reyes, and it was a shame that he couldn't settle.

Sadly, I read this week that Benfica are struggling to get the best out of him too, and have spoken out in the media about his poor form.

I think if Reyes had stayed with us he would be a regular for club and country rite now. PITY.

He has signed. You probably all think i'm a nutter for saying this but I got a text off his agent saying all will be revealed in the morning. He will get the number 23 shirt :barscarf:

We got his number from the FIFA site. Got a reply in Hebrew and then English.

Basically the hold up is that Premier League staff who register players were snowed in and only one member of staff was available and had a few other last minute players to register. Obv. Arshavin would have been at the bottom of the pile.

I am still not convinced. Knowing the way things are with the club at the moment, some jobsworth at the FA will say that the paperwork isn't right cos they spelt his name wrong or something. :?

Can we use that agents list to force Eboues agent to find him another club. Maybe if we all chipped in for a 'bung' then he could take the fucker away for us. :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

There's still an awful lot to go wrong. From F365

Arsenal are still nervously awaiting official confirmation from the Premier League that they have signed Andrei Arshavin from Zenit St Petersburg.

Although the Gunners have expressed their confidence that they filed all the relevant paperwork to comply with the league's 5pm deadline, it is understood that the deal was taken to the absolute brink before a resolution was finally agreed. Only when a disagreement over a loyalty bonus between Arshavin and Zenit was resolved late on Monday afternoon - and it remains unclear exactly how it was resolved - was the transfer settled.

While The Independent states that 'deadline may have, technically, been breached', Arsenal remain confident that the deal will be ratified later today by the Premier League.

The Arshavin transfer is one of a handful still yet to be approved by the league after the organisation, already understaffed because of traffic chaos in London, was overwhelmed by the amount of last-minute paperwork arriving at its headquarters yesterday. "A number of transfers still require board approval," confirmed a Premier League spokesman last night.

Even if the Gunners were in technical breach of the deadline, they are still expected to be treated leniently due to the complication of the deal. As well as having to grapple with a three-hour time difference to Russia, the Independent claims that 'Zenit's directors were in various degrees of incommunicado - one was in hospital, another in Africa, relying on a third to sign the papers'.

"It was completed in extra-time but we must wait for confirmation," commented Arshavin's agent Dennis Lachter. "In 16 years this has been the most difficult transfer ever."

And one of the most protracted.

We're doomed Cap'n Mainwaring.

well according to the newspapers - he has finally signed and if true - Then its a great signing

Its nice to see Wenger actually sign someone that we have all fucking heard about just like the Nasri deal - it fucking annoys me when we sign some 17 year old african / french kid that no one has heard of

I think if we get everyone back from injury we will have some right good attacking options

Arshavin, RVP, Nasri, Cesc, Walcott, Vela, Eduardo & Rosicky - The Future is bright the future is Arsenal

Come on Keep the Faith - i think we are only 1 or 2 players short of challenging again - wish we had kept Flamini and bought a decent keeper and we would be so good

This is a desperate deal to try and allay the unrest of the fan base, very similar to the reyes deal.
