No Arsenal Offers For Roma Star Mirko Vucinic – Agent

[quote]Mirko Vucinic’s future at Roma has been the subject of constant speculation in recent weeks, and press reports suggested yesterday that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has lodged a €20 million offer to lure the 25-year-old to the Emirates, but that talk has been dismissed by the Montenegrin's agent.

Roma need to sacrifice at least one of their top stars to finance their summer spending, and the former Lecce man is deemed to be the main candidate to take the plunge, despite extending his contract last month until 2013. However, his representative has shunned talk of an imminent move to the Gunners.

Lazio Consider A Move For Arsenal Centre-Back William Gallas - Report
With David Rozehnal on his way to Hamburg after leaving Lazio’s Auronzo training camp on Sunday, the Biancocelesti now look ready to make their first defensive reinforcement of the summer as they prepare for the Supercoppa Italiana on August 8.

Recent reports from the Corriere dello Sport have suggested that Arsenal’s William Gallas has been offered to the Aquilotti. After deciding not to extend his contract with the north London giants, the Gunners are keen to recoup some funds as they do not like the prospect of losing the Frenchman on a free transfer next year.

As Lazio push for Fenerbache’s Diego Lugano, there seems to be a shortfall of €1 million between the Rome club's contract offer and the Uruguayan player’s demands. Should negotiations with Lugano break down, it could well pave the way for talks with Gallas; who could potentially form a formidable partnership with fellow Frenchman Modibo Diakite.

More crap about Hangeland this morning. If we are going to sign this over-rated, Senderos styled lump can we just give over the "undisclosed fee" and get it all done with.

I know this isnt from a paper or media outlet but have been throwing around ideas in my head and came up with this scenario -

we sell kolo to citeeh for £15m, we put that cash along with £10m of the greedybarndoor money and we offer everton £25m+senderos for lescott. I know it wouldnt leave much cash for other purchases but how many of us really expect wenger to buy a dm or striker of note ? We would automatically be buying a big physically dominant centre half that can and will head a ball, we would be weakening one of our challengers in everton plus we would be preventing an even bigger rival (citeeh) for strengthening their team even more - a good days work I would suggest 8) Anyway maybe I am clutching at straws but it makes a hell of a lot more sense than buying hangeland from fulham

25mil + Senderos, you must be kidding!!!

Paying over the odds to prevent another team from getting a player is just not good business. Shite idea.

Would love to see that happen. Lescott would be my no1 choice, but with city after him and evertons reluctantness to sell even at £20mil+ i sadly cannot see it happening. A few months back i did not want hangeland, but now it seems the most likely to happen, and he is what we need. Who else is there realistially good enough and availiable at the right price to slot straight into our starting 11? I cant think of many

what about lescott???

First of all, hello to everybody i am new here and, the most important, not english, i'm spanish and i must apologise about my english.

well, here at spain there are many people who follow gooners and i don't know anything of the possible lescott's new sign. Is it refused or not? We must sign a defender, with or without kolo...

c'mon on you gunners!!!

Juanzgz, welcome. I think you are the first Spanish gooner on here. We have Italian, French, Brazilian, American Australian, Albanian and even one or 2 Irish.

I've started a new thread so you get a proper welcome.

I don't actually rate Lescott, I think jagielka makes him the player his is, one without the other isn't that great. He scores goals yes, but his positioning is suspect and for me it would be replacing like for like with toure (and not in a good way).

In the daily mirror today it says if we are going to buy hangeland we will have to do it before he plays for fulham 2morrow in the europa league or he will be cuptied.
