Podolski looks good enough to me tbf.

On the money available quotes, I too would rather give that money to a new manager rather than let Wenger bring in another chamakh, gervinho etc on long 5 year contracts that no other *word censored* will want to buy in a seasons time when its realised that they are indeed......shit

Then any new manager coming in will be stuck with a load more shit players, no money for transfers or wages.

Tony *word censored* gale just said on SSN that we need to spend more like 200 million to compete and I don't think thats far off.

I mean if we go for TOP quality (not SUPER quality as the S obviously stands for Shit), i.e. falcao, thats what, 50-60 million in one go. TOP DM 35 mil? TOP Keeper 25 mil? TOP winger 40 mil?

We're fuckin doomed I tel ya

The guy has over 100 caps for one of the best and most dynamic international teams. He's more than good enough, but has been dragged down by spending a third of his Arsenal career babysitting Andre Santos, and the rest of it banished on the left-wing, largely reduced to aiming crosses for one striker (often Gervinho) against a few defenders. And we wonder why he hasn't shined???

Even a great manager who got the players performing and bought astutely would have to spend well upwards of £50m to turn us into title contenders. Top strikers don't come cheaper than £20m and we lack depth pretty much all over the field but particularly at GK, LB, out wide and CF. Wenger has spunked away opportunity after opportunity by selling our best players for huge fees and reinvesting them on transfer fees for the likes of Gervinho, Park and Santos, and a huge wage bill for underperformers, including himself. Now a new manager is left looking at a squad where the only players who would fetch any decent fee are far too important to let go.

Talking of super quality, I watched the 1st half of celta Vigo v Real Madrid last nite and our "super quality striker" (park) had an absolute fcuking 'mare where he missed 2 great chances and 1 good chance  Looks like another c**t we won't be able to sell anytime soon

Haha I know fella I was agreeing, it wasn't an attack on your post but an observation because Podolski has been getting loads of stick, particularly for apparently not putting the effort in and sulking because he's not playing up front from posters on here and other fans I've talked to as well as people saying he's not good enough.

What would ideally happen in Jan:

-New GK (Vorm)
-New left back (Ansaldi)
-New defensive midfielder (Denisov)
-New box-to-box midfielder (Diame)
-New winger (Ben Arfa)
-New striker (Huntelaar)

Sell: Fabianski, Squillaci, Santos, Diaby, Denilson, Gervinho, Bendtner, Arshavin, Chamakh, Frimpong, Djourou, Miyaichi

Reality:

In: Henry
Out: Walcott

I know mate, why the fuck wenger won't put him up front instead of that useless teflon twat I will never know.....unless we see a news bulletin of him being led away in a straight jacket into an unmarked van with blacked out windows, then I'll understand

just seen Fabregas is 10/1 to sign, not a clue where that came from, or why it is being offered?

Wenger will buy one player maximum, Walcott out (the club won't forego the 7-10m we'll get for him) and some 1 season wonder frenchman in.
I don't understand why people will think Wenger will change his ways, that's as good as admitting he is wrong and he will NEVER admit to that!

I'm not turning my nose up at the money but £50m gets a club fuck all in today's world, probably about one and a half decent players and let's face it, no decent player will sign for us anyway, especially as there is so much negativity and uncertainty in the air. Put on top of that the fact that any decent player will have a club and an agent who can sense desperation on Arsenal's part and will start the negotiating at ridiculous levels. As far as a player and agent are concerned, they'll be in a win-win situation- ask for loads and get it or not get it and don't join a failing Arsenal, leaving you free to go elsewhere. I can see the usual, we tried but couldn't find players to match out structure/ needs/ inflated January market bollox.

The money may well exist but it will be spent on total shit , if at all.

Nicklas Bendtner likely to return to Arsenal next summer. Juve unsure on buying, now he has damaged tendons - out for the season
