As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

'Beaten' may be a bit of a overstatement but the banner was being removed for undercutting the team on the pitch. I told you other supporters would deal with this. Keep it outside the ground and express your opinion all you like. If your opinion is simply that 'he is a French *word censored*' then you get what whats coming. (In my day he likely would have left with fewer teeth and perhaps a pocket full of piss for his efforts, so in that regard we have come along a bit). These malcontents will be depicted as average Gooners wanting Wenger fired, representing the average supporter and that is not right.
"Apparently, the 16-year-old, whom was holding the 'Wengerout'banner, said, 'because he's a French c**t', when asked why he was holding it."
If so then I hope the young twat learned something about being a Gooner.
(fixed your quoting for you, mate - you'd made a pigs ear of it - g88ner)
edit: fixed it before you, now I have to post the link again

The three or four guys behind me - the one with the bobble hat, the one with the green and white hat, the black guy with the scarf and the guy with the grey hat were giving me very dirty looks the whole match. I could fukin feel them looking daggers at me from behind.
Just before half time when some had left to get food etc and there was a bit of room beside me for them to walk right up to me and the guy on the right with the grey hat thought he'd act the hero. He came down and walked up, conveniently staying about 5 seats away from me, I turned and looked at him and thought "here we go". When he saw close up that I wasn't a kid or a pushover he mumbled something incoherent. I think it was - "That just doesn't do it for me", something stupid anyway, shrugged his shouders and walked back and continued to look daggers at me for the rest of the game. Poor guy.
Anyway, it was up 15 mins before kickoff and stayed up until about 10 mins after the final whistle. Every time the ball came near where I was I raised it hoping to get it on the TV. I have no doubt Wenger did see it.
Apart from the fools behind me the general vibe I got was - "meh", with about a half dozen making a point of saying "nice one" or "that banner is bang on"
Brilliant mate.
I can't believe what I'm hearing about some *word censored* smacking a young lad for expressing a different opinion. Imagine if that was your son or brother. I would love to have a 1 on 1 with the scumbag. Fucking AKB's.
Armchair and anyone else involved - legends. Matter of time before Herd comes on here and gives his hooligan CV but that took some bravery, as evidenced by some twat clocking somebody.
Interesting how it's okay for clueless mongs to sing There's Only One Arsene Wenger but when somebody expresses the opposite view is accused of misrepresenting other Gooners.
Fair play for getting it up throughout the whole match. Had we lost it would definitely have been jumped on but given that we"ve won two away games on the bounce the press are saving their knives for the best time. Might well get reported still.

Well done gents, utmost respect.
Having looked on The Herd site most on there support the banner so I wouldn't use the poster as a barometer of how they feel. If its like this after we've won a couple of games what'll happen when we lose??

Exactly. For all anybody complains about 'AKBs' or the 'WOB' I deep down can't believe that any Gooner enjoys the fact that we now have a clearly and deeply divided fanbase.

I'm not certain it is tbh. Those who have the strongest views (for either side of a debate) tend to shout the loudest I think. The biggest majority say very little. Look at the various forums, the number regular posters and contributors to this particular debate struggle to total 3 figures and most state their own view as fact which, of course, directly oposes the other side who also believe they state facts. 'tis the way of the present day world and keyboard warriorship imo.
Regarding the banners, while I personally disagree with the sentiment on either one displayed I have no problem with them being shown in as much as any can have an opinion and voice it and respect those who show them for standing by their convictions.
The apparent violent reaction involving a young holder of one is abhorrent although one doesn't know the specifics in what actually went down - it can not be right that gooners are hitting each other whilst supporting the team - can it?

Well done Armchair, that bloke looks like a right divvy twat.... hope it makes an appearance at an away game I go to, I'd love to give you back-up from these wankers!!!
You deserve a pint from all of us (if you're over 18 that is!!)
So let me get this straight, it's ok for the majority to sing 'You don't know what you're doing' at Villa (which to me is probably a bigger kick in the bollocks for Wenger's ego) but when someone also wants to express their opinion about a subject that all fans are probably agreed on.....oh no, you get a slap. And yep, the one on the right looks more suited to be a Stoke fan than a Gooner, handsome fucker!!

I'm not saying that there are two hordes of militia, one of which to whom every Gooner must belong. But there are clearly two camps, both with significant numbers (yes this forum gives a misrepresentation as to public opinion amongst Gooners but look at fans' reactions at games recently, this isn't one man and his dog) and completely opposing views, and anybody trying to express a view that Wenger's time is up is inevitably challenged to some degree. It's actually incredibly difficult to hold a conversation with a fellow Gooner who has a different opinion on whether Wenger should stay then you do, whichever side of the fence you're on.
Again I will say that I have been disgusted with the singing of "1 wenger" for a long time and if I was at those away games then I probably would have expressed my disgust but would I have hit another Gooner (esp a kid)......I don't fcuking think so As far as I am concerned people who pay their money have a right to express their opinions as much as any other fan there present and what that c**t did is a cowardly sneaky act and I hope that he gets his shortly
Looking forward I see a lot of trouble coming on the back of this - people on both sides of the debate/argument will rally troops for altercations at future away games as the pro wenger camp seek to quash the opinions of those who disagree with them It is important that those who support the banners and those who may not agree but support the right to display the banners, stick together on this - do not go looking for trouble but don't allow others to bully you into silence cos your opinion differs from theirs
