We are back to the point that letting in too many shit teams dilutes the standard of the competition, but of course offering places to smaller nations increases the votes for fifa presidential elections

Of course, Ireland isn't a shit team. I think there's a bit of a level there, in any world cup you will get weaker sides. Sometimes they excel as Ireland, South Korea and Nigeria have done in the past, sometimes they don't.

To have a pop at a team that qualified on merit is poor form IMO.
