Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Poachers like Defoe are more or less dead at the top level. Fair enough players who do that and add more are not but doing that alone is not enough. He can also only play as part of a pair and while some will no doubt like that we're not going to do that and we shouldn't want to either.

I should add that Hernandez is providing a counterpoint to that but Defore is not Hernandez and we saw in big games last season that United's 4-4-2 caught them out against high class opposition (fair enough we could use it as they did so well to beat the lesser teams at home).

Poachers still exist and Falcao is the best one currently.

Shakhtar say no to Denilshite:
Bottega said: "The Gunners have offered the club Denilson in exchange for Douglas but Shakhtar said no. They are not interested in Denilson and would want only money."

Reports says Eto'o is heading out of Inter, and wants to go to EPL. Anyone for probably the best striker in Europe???

I'd be ready to forgive Wenger straight away if he bought Eto'o!

What are the chances after his bust up with Song? Although if it's a question of Eto signing means Song leaves, I'd settle for that (providing we get a proper DM in his place). 8)

Surely Wenger can show Shaktar Denilson's supposedly great statistics as a ploy to get them to take him.

I have a feelign we wont be able to shift that bag of shite

If we can't do a player swap with a player from the Ukraine, surely we can bung them an extra £1m and ask their mafia to 'take care' of Denilson?

Eto is the sort of player the club needs to sign to really please the fans, wonder what his wages are.

Eto and van Persie would be pretty special.

Eto'o would be an exciting signing, no doubt... but i think of all the players we have been connected with so far on this thread he's probably the most unlikely to sign for us...
I would guess he's on somewhere between 120 -150k a week and i can't see Wenger even pretending to be interested in a player on that kind of money...
Also we've had opportunities to try and sign him before when he was on much less money and at his peak and we made no attempt, why would we do it now when his game is on the wane and his wage packet is bursting at the seams..
If he's coming to England it'll be Chelski, United or Citeh he goes to, they are the only ones that will pay his wages...

Just saw that the Barca president said that they are only prepared to pay 40 million euros for Cesc, same offer as last year because as it's a year on there has been "wear and tear" to the player.

Fucking hell you'd swear they were buying a second hand Ford Cortina the fucking classless *word censored*.

Fucking gutter club.
