L'Equipe has linked you with Stephané Sessegnon  They are suggesting that we want £17m but Wenger is hoping to get him for less (cheeky git!)
Not much point posting a link since its in French but there we go anyway: http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualit ... non/282564

£17m for Stephané Sessegnon

Wenger should place a bid of £17m for Hummels or Badstuber

Hard to say mate. He's the best footballer I've ever seen at Sunderland (not hard admittedly) and is at his peak (27 just about to turn 28). That causes a bit of a problem though, he's contracted until 2014 and, as a major part of our side who we would hope to build our whole team around, we can't really let him go cheap but equally for Arsenal, you dont want to be spending major money on someone who after a 4 year contract would have very little resale value.

I'd want us to reject anything under £25m tbh. Not saying he's worth that at all but even if we got £17m I'm not sure what we could do replacement wise with the money, if we used it to sign 2 players we'd most likely get a couple of average players (we've got enough of them already!) and their combined wages would be higher than Sessegnons (and we need to lower the wage bill), not sure how many £17m type players who could really make a difference we could hope to attract though and Sess going would leave a massive void. For clubs like us, its so hard to replace a very good player who is at his peak that it really needs to be a crazy offer (like £25m would be) before we sell.

For Arsenal, I think you should be hoping to spend about £13-15m on him. He's a class act and would fit in well with your side (and is much, much better than Gervinho), can play in a number of positions and is at a very good age for getting instant results from him (as opposed to having to wait years again for him to deliver). I think about £15m for 4 years service would be fine.

As a result I can imagine us having a potential negotiating situation, the main deciding factor will be Sessegnon himself- if he wants to go we'll need to end up settling for the 13-15, if he is happy to stay (as he's said recently that he would be, but we all know players words count for little) then I think we'd hold out for more, Wenger would back out of it and he'd stay with us unless Liverpool came in with their usual extortionate bids. If you had any really good players wanting a loan then that could be used as a sweetener but I doubt Bendy will come back and I don't think there's anyone else at the stage of needing a PL season who could really improve us tbh

TBH if we lost Sessegnon, Bendtner is the man I'd want to replace him. As a main striker Bendy doesn't get enough goals because he likes to drop off and drift wide to create. His touch and vision is class, his problem is just that he wants to play in Sessegnon's position and even Bendy isn't good enough to take Sessegnon's place. If Sess goes though, I'd love us to get Bendy permanently. Don't think he'd want to sign though. Being honest I'd take about 6 or 7m plus Bendy because if we had him we wouldnt need to go chasing a replacement for Sess

To be honest 13-15 is worth it. Apart from RVP he is miles above any other attackimg player at Arsenal. I would take him over Theo or Gerv anyday

My source hasn't previously mentioned him so I was surprised at how big this runour got. Still may happen, but I would suspect that this is the typical player's agent engineering a move scenario. :|

Why do you even believe these? The Standard said Cahill had signed for us last year. Just wait and see. The written word is a lie.
