That dickhead doesn't even hide the fact that he is in the clubs pocket - his use of the word "we" when talking about how the club hopes rvp won't sulk and will remain focused, says it all IMO. He also talks about how the club would be comfortable allowing rvp to run down his contract and get his bumper bosman deal next summer when he is almost 31 years old......of course they would be ok with that but who the fcuk would give an injury prone 31 yr old a bumper contract ? The more this drags out the more I hope rvp screws the club cos I have little doubt that the agreed silence was initiated by the club   :banghead:

Just another part of the Arsenal PR - after Gazidis and Hill Wood's comments - that suggests to me that the club are mentally preparing the fans for his sale, and where they can place the blame on him rather than themselves.

Not a chance in hell Arsenal will let their most valuable asset walk out of the club for nothing.

Rumours on AOL this morning of Man City interest. In fairness Mancini has played it down saying VP is an Arsenal player and he must respect Wenger but if he did go to them it would be a really sad day for football in general as the money would be a big part.
All players are getting a rise anyway with the new 3 Billion sky deal. I still find it unreal that a player like Squalacci gets 80 grand a week.
Wenger must have had a serious moment of madness there !

I'd rather take 10m euros off of Juventus than £20m off Man City. In fact the way I feel right now I'd happily give Juventus 10m euros, RvP, Squillachi, Denilson, Arshavin and Chamakh just to end the whole RvP saga and clear our dead wood.

If he doesn't want to sign a new deal he can just f*** off.

At least then we can concentrate on actually getting our squad together.

gazzetta dello sport are saying juve are gonna up the ante, have to agree though if he aint signing a new contract has to be sold to juve, forget the :censored: talk of running his contract down would overshadow the whole season with constant talk of it

Mixed feelings on this if I am honest - if we had a proper manager willing to properly invest in the squad then I wouldnt accept a penny less than he is worth but with the clown we have in charge and the clowns we have running our club, the extra 10m would be thrown into the club coffers never to see the light of day again
Anyway I dont care if he is entering the last year of his contract or not, he is def worth at least £20m - alba moved to barca last week for approx 12m with one year left on his deal and he isnt in rvp's class at the mo

Will be interesting if nobody really comes in with a reasonable offer for RvP but he doesn't want to sign a new deal: would either him or the club back down or is it possible that he may start next season as an AFC player without a new deal? A few months ago I would have found that situation preposterous but in reality I don't see Madrid wanting to part with £20+m with the options they have, I'm not sure how much desire Barca have for another drawn out situation and I can't see them making a big push for him unless they let Villa go which is highly unlikely, and would he necessarily want to join Juve?

The silence on the situation from the player and the club since the Dutch crashed out of the Euros is ominous.

Fuck it, I would rather he goes for free next season

We wont replace with a pound for pound striker anyway

Leave him to stay until his contract is up. He will be on 80 rather than 130k

Keep him for 1 season alongside giroud and podolski which is a nice thought to be honest

Next season he will be 30, for all we know his value will go right down due to injury or even not having a good season. He might even decide to stay as we could actually win something. Then we hold the cards as he wont be getting fat pay check anywhere else.
