WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

Things didn’t work out with Theo. In 6 season, he’s s featured in 213 games, scored 29 and assisted in 30. That’s really tepid. For that time period, assuming he cost £12million, was paid £20k a week for the first two years and £60k a week for the final four, the total outlay for him is somewhere in the region of £26million. Was that value for money? Certainly not…

Re: Walcott's PR Team/Theo out - no direct replacement?

going to lock this thread since there is a new twist in the theo story with him refusing to sign a new contract and feel the other theo thread will be a bit fresher, hope thats ok with people.

Unlike others who have been flogged before him, he would be a very easy player to replace.
we saw on Sunday who is replacing him - Gervinho.

say what you want about Walcott but no way is the forehead better than him
I'd have Gervinho out the door in the morning and all. If Theo was not going to be replaced then I'd change my vote to keep him, no point weakening the squad any further at this late hour. However, as I said there are so many better wingers out there that are vastly superior to him that I reckon he could be easily replaced even with just 48 hours to go in the window.

Because Gervinho is shit doesnt make Walcott good. Its like saying Bendtner is better than Chamakh so lets keep him  And thats how we judge our players now that they are not as shit as each other.

Walcott will not be replaced. A sale of £15 million will see Arsenal with a total transfer profit of £23 million - with the potential £5 mil sale of Bendtner to follow, meaning Arsenal will have made their most profitable summer in the transfer window since the sales of Kolo and Bayor for £41 mil to Citeh.
That'd be £28 mil profits, people saying we should 'get rid' are probably the same ones who thought we should 'get rid of Clichy, cannot defend' (now we have Santos and Gibbs); 'get rid of Nasri' (like the look of Gervinho do ya?) and 'selling RVP will make us more dangerous as a team' (as Stoke and Sunderland have both had the pleasure of finding out).

Our fans never learn. Theo won't be replaced, Gervinho will play lots until Ox finallygets a chance...until he gets injured also. Meaning we will end up with the farcical scenario of having one of Santos/Rosicky/Jenkinson/Denilson out wide. None of whom is good enough.

Farcenal FC.

I wouldnt mind if he left becuase Wenger doesn't want him but I do mind if he leaves because of a stupid wage dispute. From what I hear Wenger didnt/doesnt want to lose either Song nor Walcott. This just exposes us for the badly run club that we are.

1996-2005 the trophy winning era with Henry, Bergkamp, Adams etc
2005-2012 the top 4 "trophy winning" era with Ces, RVP, Walcott etc
2013- the Europa League if we are lucky era with Gervinho, Giroud, Gibbs etc

Strange one this, I voted to keep him because we won't replace him if sold.........problem for us is that if theo goes as well, along with rvp and song, that's the vast majority of our goals and assists.......we are very worringly running out of both of these attributes no matter what supporters think of the individuals that provided them last season.

I will change my vote to "get rid" if I believe we will bring a replacement in.......but that would probably involve the board and wenger going first........aint happening........................this is fuckin depressing :? ......well at least it's summer still so I will go and sit in the garden and lap up those "happy rays"..... well I would do but it's fucking torential fuckin rain outside

213 games and 59 goal/assists?

That's pretty impressive considering he spent 89% of the time running into dead ends and into defenders!

Anyone got his crossing stats?

So baba. Are you saying that we should keep him on a five years £100k p/w wage, rather than sell him?
That makes no sense. The player has had six years to prove he is worth a bumper pay day.

It will be nigh on impossible to replace him in the last hours of the transfer market. Club's will know that we have good cash to spend, and Wenger will trot out the old, 'we have cover and shall promote from within'.
We then get spanked by Liverpool this weekend and Wenger will say that it is not ideal and we shall look at strenthening the 'squad' in January.
Liar.

Gotta get rid, unless we do not replace him. Then, I am afraid, we either eat the £12-15 million (which will never happen) or recall Ryo (if we can).

Other than that, I feel that I have read this book somewhere before. Was optimistic when the early signings came in, then the Sahin crap happened. I was still relatively optimistic that Wenger would buy quality in midfield, but with 3 days to go and now potentially another sale of a player, I am feeling the panic reflexes kicking in.

Hopefully it isn't Arshavin that replaces Walcott....Somehow I get the feeling that is the case.
