The thing is, I'm sure I read a little snippet about him being on the run for murdering two other people, I remember it because of the whole one eye thing. For someone on the run to then kill two police officers needlessly says it all about what kind of pathetic fuckbag he really is.

On a tangent, tbh for years I was "for" the death penalty before but now it just seems like an escape route. They should be left to rot in solitary confinement for life with none of this wishy washy comfy TV and playstation bullshit. Hanging them just gives them an escape route and gives them the same treatment that they gave someone else. You'd then have to start robbing people who burgle others, molesting paedo's who do that to kids...too many fucked up people in the world to open that can of worms unfortunately.

I agree but unless someone admits to it how can you be 1000% sure they are guilty? Dont get me wrong i want paedophiles, rapists and murderers tortured for their crimes but if one person is falsely convicted and hanged then thats one too many, at least if they are inside but alive they could be repreaved (sp) thats why i cant go along with the death penalty

Problem with the death penalty (amongst humanity arguments) is that people must have 100% confidence in the judicial system, because locking an innocent man up is nothing compared to killing an innocent man. Most people backing the death penalty are those who are disillusioned/have no confidence in the judicial system anyway, so they would be putting the power of life and death in the hands of a system they don't trust.

Besides, sorry to get boringly factual but while we're a party to the ECHR (and we always will be) you can't impose the death penalty on anybody, not that there would ever be the political will to reintroduce it anyway.

Personally I think it's a real shame that the system isn't willing to turn a blind eye to coppers and prison wardens giving scum like this a fucking pasting on a regular basis though.
