The best teams in the world will lose by small margins because of wrong tactics. The tactics will not change for a minimum of 3 years.

Topgoon has said it before and looking at our set up nothing has changed Topgoon's thinking that over the next 3 years we will become like the Victims were under fat Rafa. We are set up to do well in cup comps and will probably win another Fa cup,the elusive league cup and if we are lucky, breech the latter stages of the champions league but bone headed tactics win leagues. AW doesn't worry about the oppo, only ourselves.

Tonight will be the first time to show a new sensible approach to going away to difficult places. Ignore the result and watch how we set up to see if anything has changed. Topgoon predicts you'll get a feeling of deja vu all over again.

OBG has said Topgoon and his third party pluralist imaginary agent is talkin out of his fart box again.

Nothing concrete in the standard about the greek, just rumours. We can't believe the media we would have signed khedira by now had the masses of column space given over to that been even vaguely right.

Manolas will probably be shit anyway...its not as if wenger has a great record for not much money unknown cbs, squil, cygan, step etc

Have to admit I'm not sure another young CB who has so far only played in a tinpot league is exactly what we need. I know he has played a lot of first-team games for his age but he is going to have a lot of adapting to do and for me the arguments against Chambers being able to offer first-choice CB cover apply to this fella too.

Having to use injury cover at CB is always a step into the unknown to an extent but I wouldn't be particularly comfortably with Manny (or whatever nickname 1989 has given this guy ) lining up for an extended period.

As much as we all know we need a new DM I don't think one is coming. I thought BFG was nailed on for the arm band and would have put money on Atreta being either shipped out or used as back up at best. The minute he got the captaincy I resigned myself to the fact that this ship had sailed.

I really thought Wenger would have seen last year that Arteta was past his best and had in fact become somewhat of a liability but Wenger amazingly does not see his limitations. With Arteta and Jack in the same midfield we don't stand a chance of winning the prem.

There's just no way I can see us having another bit part captain as with Vamaelen so Wenger obviously sees him as intergral to his plans (if in fact he has any?)

It's almost as if he does it on purpose. Bringing in Ozil and Sanchez are both massive steps in the right direction but just when things are starting to look positive he makes a decision that undoes all the good work and has an uncanny ability to bring us all down to earth with a bump :banghead:

Bang on. I think AW's decision to choose Arteta over the BFG could prove to be his biggest mistake this year. The BFG is nailed on for a starting place, has the experience needed, obviously has the respect of the players and is clearly passionate about the club. Arteta is a great professional and has done a good job for the club, but he's too quiet and most importantly shouldn't be commanding a starting place.

The Arteta thing is Wenger's loyalty to a fault displayed yet again.

Consummate professional and very consistent performer for 2 seasons, I will always hold him in high regard for that. But last season it was painfully obvious that he was struggling with the pace of the games in that role. He started to become a liability and it's a problem that's only going to get worse.

Agreed. Right up there with his worst. Sometimes things conspire in such a way that Wenger is left with a no lose situation, where he seemingly has no option other than to make the decision we would all be happy with. However as with this case he still manages to make the wrong decision and you find yourself thinking "for fuck sake Wenger, it couldn't have been any easier for you"

Unfortunately and mainly due to a poor midfield performance from the oilers Arteta didn't look too bad in the shield. We look at that and see it for what it is, an easy game where he didn't need to be on top of his game. Wenger on the other hand would have watched that and thought after that performance we have no need for a replacement. Sadly I think the big boys will probably dominate us again especially if we line up with Jack alongside him as those two together frighten me at their current levels.

Wenger has done some good business but why ruin it by not addressing the obvious, TBH i'd have been happier had we kept Vamaelen and played him as DM.

me too.

we have spent not much 35m apprx. and wages wont have gone up hat much given at least 3 big earners, verm, sagna, NB52 are gone, not to mention JD is finally completely of the wage bill, and i dont think we are supplementing jenks over inflated wages, flappys not small wages are gone as are vivianos that we would have been paying not that much they should have been.

i really cant see how our wages would have increased significantly given the above, despite Sanchez being on big bucks.

As such we must still be sitting on a shitload of war chest.

christ we need a striker!

leftback, dm and cb could be solved in a stroke by daley blind who is meant to be decent and probably going mancs.

even if we do sign a cb and dm and lb im now reminded of how shit our striking options are, and the fact that a decent, not even top class, striker, would make a world of difference to us.

Having just seen Jeeroizshit play like a drunk with a false leg....and knowing wenger thinks sanogo is 2nd choice striker....I fear for Campbell (not getting a chance) and for us...because with Jeeroizshit and sanogoals up front we will win fuck all.

WENGER OUT!

(That one's especially for McD)

If Wenger is unwilling to move Sanchez upfront or use Campbell, then sign a fucking striker ASAP. I'd even have Balotelli at this point as I can't take any more of the French Dumb and Dumber.
