The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Nastasić looked crap in the community shield, chavs need to sell none homegrown player before they can buy. Carvalho would be first choice here, would be loaned straight out again to some Belgian club if joins the chavs. Would he get game time here...a resounding yes.

The release clause is Bs,he isn't worth that yet. 20-25 million mark yes,but no f**king way is he worth £37million. Chavs if they are bidding for him are doing it to take the p*ss,they do not need him. So far everyone but us have or aren't looking for a Cm,so wouldn't put it past the club advise agent to try and force our hand

Tony Leen on twitter is saying pretty much that. Pointless as we will do nothing till next Thursday.

This week just gets better and better (NOT!)

Chelsea are set to trump Premier League rivals Arsenal with a £35m bid for Sporting Lisbon's 22-year-old midfielder William Carvalho. (Abola - in Portuguese)

Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho is wanted by Arsenal and Chelsea
Arsenal are set to miss out on Manchester City's Serb defender Matija Nastasic, 21, because Italian champions Juventus want to take the former Fiorentina player back to Serie A. (Daily Express)

W.T.F - I didn't even know we were still in for him..Don't get me wrong I hope we are, but if it is down to Money the Chavs will blow wenger into Kingdom feckin' Come. :?
I wouldn't get too worked up OneBard. Why the shit would Chelsea need to spend stupid money on Carvalho when they've already got Matic and have just pumped £30m to sign Fibreglass? (Still winds me up, this one :cussing: )

It's probably his agent hawking him around and letting Journalists know that the World and his wife is interested. Agent economics 101: drive the price up = bigger slice of pie for scumbag agent once asset sold.

That article has to be bollocks. How has he improved at Barca when he hasn't fucking played?
Surely he can't come back..?
Tbh, mate - this would be a VERY Wenger thing to do. Refuse to re-sign class like Fabregas because "there's no room in the midfield for him" and then re-sign the piece of useless shite that is Alex Mong. :x

We are talking about a man that would not offer Bobby a 2 year contract extension because the legend was over 30 but then signed the Mid-Op Transexual Silvestre from the filth on a 3 year contract, even though HE WAS OVER 30 AND ABSOLUTE SHITHOUSE!!!!

:x :banghead: :cussing: :censored:

Brenda obviously has a thing for footballers that are nutcases as the Victims have bid £17.5m for Mad Mario.

Anyone who constantly gets himself in sh*t then wears a t-shirt saying "why always me " will fit right in with Victims Fc.

Sporting say it's BS, the chavs haven't bid for Big Willie style.

Milan claim that there have been no bids for the player from any club.

And that proves topgoon's point exactly,it's all bs rumours at the moment so DB can stop soiling his tampons till next Thursday.

Seems to have gone a bit quiet on transfer front. Perhaps waiting for us to qualify for group stages of CL?

I think it's more due to a lack of creativity in the journos world.

C'mon guys, think, think, think!

I know that FIFA are to an extent hamstrung by the inevitable legal appeals process but they could have done a lot more to avoid this totally foreseeable conclusion if they wanted to. It was obvious that what was going to happen with the timeframe and complexity of the ban is Barcelona would appeal, the ban would get delayed and they would cram a few windows' worth of deals into this summer. They've gone out and spent 160m euros (so far) on 6 new players and managed to rake in big fees and offloaded big wages for Sanchez and Fabregas.

And FIFA will pretend they have won as Barcelona can't sign anyone or offload wage liabilities for big fees  This is what they wanted all along, clubs like Barcelona splashing huge amounts on players like Suarez makes the game what it is in their eyes.

The most ridiculous thing about this ban is, it actually now doesn't kick in till Jan 1st 2015 :banghead:

So Barcawhores can still shop till they drop for 11 mire days. It's a joke.

I wonder if a Legia Warsaw would get such treatment....think Celtic have given us the answer to that question.
