I know that FIFA are to an extent hamstrung by the inevitable legal appeals process but they could have done a lot more to avoid this totally foreseeable conclusion if they wanted to. It was obvious that what was going to happen with the timeframe and complexity of the ban is Barcelona would appeal, the ban would get delayed and they would cram a few windows' worth of deals into this summer. They've gone out and spent 160m euros (so far) on 6 new players and managed to rake in big fees and offloaded big wages for Sanchez and Fabregas.

And FIFA will pretend they have won as Barcelona can't sign anyone or offload wage liabilities for big fees This is what they wanted all along, clubs like Barcelona splashing huge amounts on players like Suarez makes the game what it is in their eyes.

The most ridiculous thing about this ban is, it actually now doesn't kick in till Jan 1st 2015

So Barcawhores can still shop till they drop for 11 mire days. It's a joke.
