SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

100% agree with all of that,Laudrup would be my first realistic choice,oh well we can all dream :banghead:

*I do feel the need to qualify this first so that somebody doesn't bite my head off with a reply moaning about how different the situation is from ours - I know that and it's not a comparison.*

What the fuck is Moyes playing at with his transfer policy? Pissing around with leaking transfer bids and publicising chief exec returning from tour to 'finalise transfer business' when Fabregas was never gonna go there. Then waits for the season to start to put in a double bid for Fellaini and Baines - two players that everybody suspected he was going to target - at a joke price that's never going to persuade them to sell.

With the movement and excitement around Citeh and Chelsea all he needed to do was go about his business quietly and efficiently, and make his signings early doors. Instead he's just increased the question marks around his ability to attract quality players and started to look panicky - only exacerbated by pathetic comments about fixture list. Had a great start against Swansea but if they have a few poor results in their next 4 games the doubts will start creeping in.

123,

Agree, he looks like a tool. He himself paid £15m for Elbows and now decides that he's worth £16M, it's the kind of bid I'd expect from us.

Arsene Wenger: I am working 24 hours a day to sign new players for Arsenal in transfer window

Wow! The guy does not need sleep at all :rubchin: !
This explains the quality of his decisions Tomas...

i really don't AW to sign anyone now. its too late, unless its 3-4 of the very highest quality proven internationals - Fabregas, Iniesta etc.

Its a Joke that Gustavo went to Wolfsburg rather than us. it just shows our name is mud and the smart money thinks we'll implode this season and no player wants to be part of it.

we really need a big name like TH14 or Dennis to come out and say AW and Gazidis should resign. now.

I don't really give a shit about Cabaye - frankly we have bigger needs requiring better solutions - but fuck me would it put a smile on my face if Kinnear went over Pardew's head to sell him to us.

It's ridiculous that transfer bids can affect games.
Obviously the window should shut when games start.
Don't think Gustavo read the onlineGooner before taking more money at Wolfsburg

Arsenal's transfer fixer Dick Law, who has yet to land any of their big targets, rang Ashley offering £10.2m and the Newcastle owner quipped: "Which bit of him do you want to buy?"

The joke went over Law's head as he replied: "No, we want to buy all of him. The player wants to play for Arsenal."

Seriously, this can't be true

I've read we never even made an offer for him, unsure of the veracity of that though.

i'm sure there was a quote about us getting our business done early this year, last May.

in 2011 we had the trolley dash,

in 2012 we had pod and Giroud training alone at home while the rest of the squad practised with Chopsticks, and then not being fit until September...

oh what excitement will this years total shambles bring i wonder ?

Arsenal step up chase for Yohan Cabaye as panic sets in at the Emirates

Interest in Cabaye, a ball-playing midfielder of undoubted class, crystalised as Arsenal were contemplating awkward Champions League qualifier against Fenerbahce in Istanbul and digesting the loss of Oxlade-Chamberlain to long-term injury. The England midfielder underwent scans on his left knee and, while he does not appear to have ruptured his cruciate ligament, he fears the damage sustained will most likely rule him out for the rest of the year. Confirmation of his absence is expected when Wenger is in Istanbul on the eve of the game at the Sukru Saracoglu stadium.

It has further depleted a squad which had already been trimmed of its high-earning fringe players but has seen only the French forward Yaya Sanogo, signed on a free transfer from Auxerre, added. With the transfer deadline under two weeks away, Wenger's attempts to strengthen have seen inquiries also lodged with the Italian champions Juventus for their former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba. That seems an ambitious chase, with Sevilla's Geoffrey Kondogbia, 20, an alternative even if the Spaniards, too, will resist a sale.

While Arsenal still hold out some hope that their pursuit of Luis Suárez and Wayne Rooney is not forlorn, the Swansea City forward Michu has emerged as a potential fall-back option though no bid has been submitted and it remains to be seen whether Wenger would be willing to pay in excess of £20m for a player who moved to the Welsh club from Rayo Vallecano for nearer £2m a year ago. Stoke City are still braced for a bid for their goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic, while Swansea's Ashley Williams and City's Micah Richards, who was suffering with a hamstring strain on Monday night, remain as defensive targets.

Yet time is ticking down towards the deadline and the sudden flurry of interest in potential signings, combined with the sense of mutiny at the final whistle on Sunday, has created an air of panic around the club. At present, the likeliest arrival in a summer that had begun with bold pledges to make waves in the market, with up to £70m apparently available for deals, still appears to be Mathieu Flamini.
