As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yeah, but the yellow cards he'll bring with him will knock us off the top of the Fair Play League

Am sure I saw Toulalan jugging while the Mexicans were sprinting past him. Sadly I have never seen him be as aggressive as you make him out to be, some rash and hard challenges yes but nothing else.
Remember he plays alongside Makoun for Lyon and Diarra for France, now those are the aggressive ones.

The problem with Toulalan is he runs everywhere on the pitch and not wisely, he runs like a headless chicken as you say. And he gets silly yellow cards, remember this season he's been sent of in Champion's League semi final, now he's suspended for the third game. He only needs a brain, for the rest is a top class defensive midfielder, very committed, very strong, good passing.
.. I've just seen he scored 2 goals in his entire career
Uruguay and Mexico just need to play out a draw. Will there be a little bit of South American sympathy together or do they hate each other? Brazilian where are you?

Hadn't considered that, good point.
I think South Africa will beat them. And they should be a great price in the bookies.

i'm in brazil mate
well, to be honest with you, mexico is in north america, not south america so there is no sympathy nor hatred. one country is really far from the other, completely different cultures.
i do expect, however, that they will fight to win the match, as the loser faces argentina in the next phase and no one wants that. that means mexico will have to win the game otherwise they'll be 2nd by goal difference.
Not that anyone will be ready this as DB10 won't let us create a new thread. But I'll be closly watching Subotic, Neuer and Mertsacker in the Friday game.
