Wenger Out Banner

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I supported the idea of this banner but at this stage I would rather this thread be locked now - all it has become now is a pisstake for those who are more than happy to sit behind their computers and moan but are not willing to do fcuk all to change things

That being said the banner should have been displayed by now so am inclined to think that it wont be at this stage. If the people behind the banner are not feeling confident enough to display it then that is their right and shouldnt be bullied into doing so but at the same time the whole idea should be officially scraped if it isnt going to be displayed now

Totally agree augie if it wasnt shown at half time against Villa it might as well be burnt IMO.

If SWL or whoever doesnt want to show it thats fine (i didnt give any money towards it) but then lets lock this thread either that or for fuck sake give it to Butcher (who hasnt wanted it for the last 3 months) and lets see if he has the balls to show it or at least shut him up

Yeah I heard that Jamie. 'Football's changed' was his main defence :banghead: Anyway he also said that there was a lot of arguing between our fans. What was the reaction around you at the end?

I honestly believe that whomever does Unfurl the Banner and resist ANY attempts for its removal etc - will most likely get a ban of some sort ..maybe a month, season whatever...so I am volunteering to do so...cos the way we are playing under this egomaniac of a manager - we ain't going nowhere but 9th in the table.

SWL...? give me the banner and I'll do it...anyone willing to help...may involve fisticuffs with the gestapostweards..but hey there has to be some positives :barscarf:

I think you'd be fine tbh, the only way you could face a ban is if you unfurl the flag, someone starts on you and you end up in a scrap. The club will want as little publicity about the flag as possible- if you show it a steward will waddle across and ask you to take it down, if you argue the point they might threaten to kick you out but they wouldnt give you a ban, they know that would make a bigger issue out of it (you could go to the papers, the fans would hear about it and it might increase pressure on the club). Best just to get somewhere you know it'll be shown, unveil it and when the stewards get across just hand it over nice and politely, pick it up at the end of the game and someone else takes it the next week.

What was the reaction around you at the end?

The usual silence and acceptance of the inevitable dross on display. At least Bolton didnt score which would have been par for the course.
Did hear a rendition of One Arsene Wenger, but only think that was in reply to Bolton crunts singing Sit down you Pea......

Sad to say but until peole make a stand and start to destroy f, ing flags like in Arsene we trust at the Emirates, he will think he is untouchable.
we are at best a mid table team. We are at the point of having sold all our best players that the assets cupboard is bare. When we sell VP this summer then there will be nothing left.
Why people cant see the the mess that Wenger has got this club into on the pitch is unbelievable. To much dross thats over paid.

Only the fans can remove Wenger ( even Gazidis alluded to it ) Time to make a stand or forever be in the scums shadow.

Only complacency is cyclical, progress is not

it seems that the banner is destined never to appear due to the banner owners panicked by the stewards, the club, or the other supporters in the vacinity.....maybe the wording is too direct, how about something more suttle like uzbekistan flags or (catchphrase style, say what you see) the word 'holdings' written in red and white (maybe on a black background)....cant get chucked out/banned/beaten up for that

I think weve come to the point where we cant fuck about with clever wording anymore. "thanks for the memories......., err no thanks.

Fuck it, banners need to be direct to show our anger, not to mention poorly hand written on a white duvet cover a la Blackburn style. More authentic look.

Something along the lines of

Wenger out

Yanks + Wenger Out

6.5%, shove it up your arsenal

etc you get the point.

Im not at many more games this season myself, but if anyone is serious about getting a banner in and on TV for a Sky game, I can ensure it gets on TV as I have a friend who works on their live broadcasts.

Just say the word.
