sp*rs (a) match thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I though the Police seemed a bit disorganised too ; could not decide whether to put in an escort or not, had a half hearted attempt on the corner by the ticket office, but the damage was already done.

Was overtaken on the High Road by a police van with a copper hanging out the door shouting 'OPERATION BUBBLE! OPERATION BUBBLE!' at his number who were walking alongside us.

Bizarre.

As for the game......bloody hell.
It was utter chaos. They had thousands of knuckle draggers wating for us as we came out of the stand chanting and trying to kick off and they just had no control. This game can be played at any time of the day at the Grove but those c**ts just do not know how to behave themselves so when it's at the swamp it has to be an early kick off.

From our side hate Greedy but chants of 'Let him die' as he was stretchered off didn't exactly paint us in a good light.
Oh do pipe down with your political correctness. Grass up your other fans by texting the number if you that bothered. That service made for people like you. Called old school terrace banter.

Was going to ignore this but no f**k it

Banter is taking the piss, having a laugh winding the other teams fans and players up

Banter is not hissing noises at Spurs fans, crap about munich to Manure fans, booing Ramsey for getting his leg broken, wishing Campbell was hung from a tree by scum fans.

I enjoy banter and have indulged in it especially where that greedy w***er is concerned but some things I draw the line at.

If me having some lines I don't cross suddenly makes me a PC grass then guilty as charged. BTW do you know what being politically correct actually means or have you just been reading the Daily Mail too long and anything that remotely involves not being completely out of order is now considered being PC ?
Firstly I didn't mention any of the above about Munich etc and isn't in the same

Banter as you say is to wind up the other fans and players. That song does and is hardly the worst one chanted yesterday. It's not be to taken literally. And is sung and has been sung most times a player goes down injured. Not as if he was actually dying.
Answering your question yes I do.
They sing about wenger being paedo, give as good as you get. And please no bollocks about no stooping to their level. It's football and terrace culture like that has sadly disappeared Over the years leaving a stale atmosphere at most games apart from a couple a season.
There is no difference both offensive and if you can't see that then we'll agree to differ before this becomes one of those pointless arguements that happen too often on here and I quite frankly can't be bothered with.

I remember Lincoln fans chanting let him die to a player at York City in 1990, when a player of theirs went down just before half time. The game as abandoned at half time, we had no idea what was going on. It was only when we got back to the car that we found out the player had actually died. David Longhurst.

Always makes me cringe when I hear it being chanted ever since that day at York.

Clash wrote:I see Hansen was ripping into our defence again last night. He has been doing this for a good few years on MOTD. But not once have I heard him link this criticism to the man in charge. Wenger never gets implicated.

In fact ask Hansen if Wenger’s lost the plot and should be sacked and he’d probably say something along the lines of ‘’you cant sack a man like Wenger after what he’s done for the club’’.

It does my head in :banghead:
Starting to think some of the non-gooner pundits have an agenda. If AW is kept in place, it masks the decline of their former clubs and also it can't hurt if we get worse and they replace us at the top table. Apart from John Cross who is an AW bum licker most gooner pundits and ex Arsenal players are saying the same things we are.

Those on here who are regular twiiter users why don't you tweet Cross and ask him why he doesn't just ask Wenger why won't he teach his teams to defend and if he replies he doe,s then ask why his defence have been conceding exactly the same type of goals for 7 years

Ive tweeted him a couple of times regarding our 70min subs and how we play the same formation every game regardless of who we are playing or what the score but never got a reply

Have to say I had a good chuckle when I saw it too. Bit ridiculous the furore given that there have been incidents where players have been hit with coins and no FA/criminal action taken - Carragher got off scot free with launching a coin into a packed crowd that included women and children so this was really a non-story.

Heard there were some pretty bad chants etc from our fans yesterday and have to say I'm disappointed if what I heard is true. We should really be a cut above the scum and I bet there are people who would happily chant vile things but who deny that anybody has the right to vocally question Wenger by way of words/banner.

Had the misfortune to overhear a Spurs fan today proclaiming that they have to be considered favourites for 2nd now, that their squad is as strong as Man City's when Sandro is fit again and that there's no reason they can't challenge for the title. Was having a good day considering up until this point but I really just wanted to snap the deluded ****'s neck.

in the scum

ARSENAL will ban for life the derby yob who yesterday threw a banana at Gareth Bale.

I reckon it was Wenger,,,,,ban him now !!!

Police are investigating after a Gunners fan hurled the fruit at Bale as he went to take a 27th-minute corner at White Hart Lane.
London cops have studied CCTV footage in a bid to catch the thug. :banghead:
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating after a banana was thrown on to the pitch from the away section of supporters during the Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal match at White Hart Lane on Sunday March 3rd.
“There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue to try to identify the suspect.”
Bale is sometimes targeted by opposing fans, who often chant that the player “looks like a chimp”.

Maybe but I always thought that chant was about winning the League.
