Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
As I said, I don't doubt Law is a part of the problem, the upper echelons of the club appear to be riddled with incompetent morons right now. I've got no time for the lot of them. And there's never been any doubt either that Dein's maverick side was the yin to Wenger's uber-cautious yang, Peter Taylor to his Brian Clough etc. But none of that changes the fact that Wenger's dithering, over thinking things & stubborn lack of pragmatism about modern football (when it's convenient at least, not when he's negotiating his own contract obviously) is the biggest hindrance to our recruitment "policy" (if you can even call it that). Clearly Wenger was more inclined to listen to Dein, but Dein hasn't been here for years now. Law is, and probably at Wenger's say so. Not to mention, the man seems to become more of a megalomaniac with every passing season, retreating deeper & deeper into his own delusions of grandeur. There's no guarantee he'd pay any attention to Dein anymore either.georgeknows89 wrote:Its up for grabs.
Noted but what I can't comprehend is that AW always seemed to reply and communicate to DD in the same role but now all of a sudden he is the one that is wrong in these trades ?
Underlying problem is forget the individual, look at the role and structure- when DD did it he was a stakeholder in the business and looked at the bigger picture but Prick Dick is only interested in his salary and profit share / bonus no doubt on his trading activities.
Whoever appointed Prick Dick must have an element of responsibility and that is the board and SK ? or Wenger ?
no matter what, it ain't working and whoever we sign nothing is being done the ' Arsenal way ' that we all used to be so proud of
Let's be clear, none of us would shed any tears if the likes of Dick Law were fucked off back into the ether tomorrow. But Wenger has the final say. If it was purely Law's penny-pinching out of self-interest that was causing deals to collapse do you honestly think Wenger doesn't hold the sway to set that straight? My concern is that both the bsm & ast letters talked about who's managing the manager etc. No problem with that in itself, we all agree the club is a rudderless ship & it's a ridiculous situation for any manager to hold that much power. All of that needs to be addressed with or without Wenger. But it does leave the door slightly ajar for the club to take some sort of half-measure whereby they make a few token changes to the management structure, or sacrifice a few scapegoats (ie Law), to appease everyone & then effectively tell us "I promise babe, I've changed, honest, it'll never happen again" as they hand Wenger a new contract. At least Little Mo plucked up the courage to batter Trevor with the iron.

75k a week? We were paying more for Arshavin! Chamakh had 60, Squid had 50k.Borussia Dortmund have trebled Robert Lewandowski's wages in a belated attempt to ward off Manchester United.
This year's Champions League finalists have upped his pay to £75,000-a-week for the final year of his contract with them.
Dortmund will reluctantly consider selling the Poland striker if anyone - bar Bayern Munich - matches their £25.5million asking price and Real Madrid are also monitoring developments.
Anyhow 25,5million for a 25 year old is a damn good deal. What are you waiting for Wenker?
Give them 30m and 80k per week and it's a done deal!
While you are there, take Hummels or Reus too

He's done a Wenger and dropped his wage demands to £1 under £200,000 so the deal might be on
