SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign
Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
Poor Wenger - his apostle, John Cross, has tweeted that all clubs are demanding unrealistic fees.
Give it a rest, John.
Give it a rest, John.

Anger at Arsenal
"Spend the damn money!"
It is uncomfortable at the club by Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker: Arsenal for eight years has brought no more titles. Now the wrath of the base on coach Arsene Wenger is growing - because this does not increase the crew.
Raphael Honigstein, London
The first 90 minutes of a season actually not suitable for final review, but the Arsenal Supporters Trust (AST), an umbrella organization of small shareholders and fans of the London club, had seen enough on Saturday. After the 1:3 home defeat against Aston Villa AST in an open letter demanding an immediate halt to the talks on a contract extension with manager Arsene Wenger over the coming summer also. "We believe the offer of a new contract for inappropriate," it said in the communiqué.
The anger of the base north of the capital attracted less the result as the enervating transfer policy in recent months. While the competition incorporated in the league some outrageously expensive additions, signed for Arsenal just the 20-year-old striker Yaya Sanogo (free transfer, from the French second division club AJ Auxerre) - Despite a much-heralded by CEO Ivan Gazidis investment program.
The American official had announced in June by an "escalation of the financial firepower" of the traditionally profitable and careful active clubs. However, towards Gonzalo Higuaín (Real Madrid to Napoli), Lars Bender (Leverkusen), Luis Suárez (Liverpool) and Luiz Gustavo (FC Bayern VfL Wolfsburg) shots fired missed all the destination. Thus, for the past eight years waiting for a title Gunners only escalates the anger at Wenger's enigmatic final weakness in the transfer market. "Spend some fucking money!" (Give the damn money!) - It echoed after the game against Aston Villa again through the stadium.
"Important questions about the way how to Arsenal players identified, appointed and paid to stay open," wrote AST. Of funds in any case it is not missing, the club confirmed indirectly that at least 80 million euros were ready for transfer. That the most expensive ticket prices of Great Britain to be paid to the Holloway Road, Arsenal can zauderhaftes transfer behavior seem even more puzzling. Moreover, after the passage of 17 complementary and junior players to retrofit in all parts of the team would have acutely necessary.
Against Villa Wenger had difficulties filling the bank reasonable. And also in the pioneering Champions League play-off first leg at Fenerbahce this Wednesday the Alsatian (Mikel Arteta, Thomas Vermaelen, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Abou Diaby, Nacho Monreal) have to do without many injured regulars. The German international defender Per Mertesacker will wear the captain's armband as the season opener in Istanbul.
Wenger defends itself
"People say, buy 'players, buy' players, buy 'Player' But who.?" Snapped the irritated Coach on the weekend. "We analyze every single player on the world and work 24 hours a day when we no Players buy, it's only because we do not find. " Club insiders speak of lengthy decision-making, faster rivals Arsenal, meanwhile, engage preferred candidate. In addition, a certain stubbornness: The once acclaimed for his scouting expertise Wenger has a very precise idea of the "objective" transfer value of a player, and differs from it reluctantly.
However, the biggest problem is the lack of separation of powers. There is no sporting director, Wenger would do the work - and no one in the club that could force him to his happiness. Owner Stan Kroenke from the United States does not interfere in the daily business. The pale Gazidis acts in practice as an employee of Wenger, though it would have to be reversed.
"The mismanagement and lack of investment in the squad are unforgivable," Wenger said on Tuesday before very long remained faithful reporter of the Daily Mirror. Even the crew is getting restless. "I think we need another striker, a well-known commitment could change our game," said the French striker Olivier Giroud. Mate Lukas Podolski, on Saturday, just a few minutes on the pitch comes under Wenger only on the left to use.
Alarmed by the Villa result and the public response was devastating Wenger on Monday Deals for midfielder Yohan Cabaye (Newcastle) and Paul Pogba (Juventus) from - but on terms that were rejected by the club immediately as unacceptable.
For the trip to Istanbul, the urgency comes too late anyway. "If we climb the Eiffel Tower and throw money down, we can play with the players we currently have anyway," Wenger said defiantly before departure to Turkey.

And I hope to fcuk that Swansea stick to their guns cos I really fear being stuck with that welsh donkey at centre back for the next few years. The only option worth persuing in Swansea is laudrup himself and is doubtful they will let him go at this stage either

The more this drags on the more embarrassing it is to support our club. I have f**king Newcastle and Aston Villa fans laughing at me. Not that they have anything to laugh at. Newcastle are probably the only club in the EPL that are more of a laughing stock than us at the moment.

But I agree that he's a donkey and a carthorse to boot - a poor man's Vermaelen in the sense that he doesn't anticipate the game well at all but lacks Vermaelen's pace.
Also don't want us to go spunk away £20m+ on Michu because better options are (or were) available.

Apparently we could have got David Villa got £2.4 million, our wonderful scouting network
looking for top quality indeed.

I just don't understand how Cesar is still sitting about with QPR, I mean the fee will be a tiny amount, you'd think Wenger would be snapping it up! And god knows we need experience in that position!
