The way to get their attention

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

How any right minded fan can continue to support the strategy of a club where they openly admit that winning is not the end objective is beyond me :? Sometimes I feel that the type of fans we now have deserve no better :banghead:

An objective has to be acheivable ? So each season only 1 team can win the League/FA/CL/CC.

If you set the objective to win a trophy EVERY year and you don't, you've failed your objective ? So what do you do ? Sack the manager ? And if the next guy comes in and fails, do you sack him ? The coaching staff ? A manager will be on a 3 year contract normally as a minimum generally

I think if you look at the statement it can be construed in different ways, if he says of course our intention is to win things each year, but if we don't it's not the end of the world, is that so bad ? And you can't expect to win trophies each season can you ?

No its not so bad….. If your fucking Tottenham!!!!

We on the other hand are Arsenal who are close to winning the league every fucking year but due to stubbornness from that old French idiot we don’t.

Would rather be in Tottenham’s position when they know all they can win is a cup and getting 4th is the main ambition for the FANS and the club.

So yeh winning is fucking everything , not losing!!!!

FFS it’s the parent with a fat ugly kid syndrome again
I am just trying to be objective  mate. But you can't expect to win every season can you ? That's all I am saying mate.

I am no way suggesting we should be happy with it, but just because we are Arsenal, does not give us a devine right to win things.

I want us to be winning trophies, I just think you should be realistic with it.
I didnt mean to dig you out, im just so wound up!

I don’t expect us to win trophy’s all the time.

What I do expect is for us to do everything in our power in order to do so. If we do that and still don’t then fair enough

The club do not do everything in there power to do so and that’s fact

You have to agree on that

I believe as I have said before Arsene beleives he IS doing everything in his power. I don't say that I do, but I certainly think he does.

The club I think have this policy and as it stands it's been close to winning things.

The problem is the failings have been the same now for nearly 7 years and understandably there is a growing frustration that the same mistakes keep happening and it's not working. I don't disagree with that.

Ultimatley we all want Arsenal to be winning things and are all gooners.

I agree and i dream of those days again! Barca at home and Eevrton at home were the only games this season where there has been a togetherness from the fans and the players. A huge bond

sadly it doesnt last

aw began to believe his own hype regarding the youngsters coming through back in 06/07 when the, then, kids were narrowly beaten by a full-strength chelsea in the ccf.

everyone expected that within 2-3 seasons we'd have a young team that surpassed the man.u one that included giggs, beckham, scholes, etc WINNING titles and cups

for various reasons (ie. key injuries, failure to add experienced signing and most of the youngsters just not being good enough...bendtner, denilson, eboue and most out on loan) the experiment was clearly failing during 07/08 & 08/09 when the team were fully tested in key matches at home and the cl.

the up-shot is that aw's left with the rubble that is the failed project after committing to it 101% (to the point there was no plan b in terms of bringing success - that's why he's always resisted buying) and he doesn't have the flexibility to convince most he can deliver the promised package that was supposed to be the best team, playing in the best stadium......and debt-free in the, relatively, near future. even if we win the pl it will only paper over the cracks

the continuing lack of honesty/transparency appears to be the main source of frustration and anger across the piste

I am as angry as a lot of you are on here and will be 100% behind the protest and will try and give support in any way possible. But I have been thinking and perhaps some of us do need (myself included) to tone down the level of our anger. I'll probably get shouted down for this, but we need support for our protest and going on .com and abusing them and calling Wenger a c**t isn't exactly going to win us that many friends, particularly with those who may be annoyed with Wenger and could potentially support our cause. I understand the frustration and anger, but I think it is time to reign it in otherwise our protest could be ridiculed before it even gets off the ground.

ARSENAL FC, NOT PLC WANTS:

ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB START SPENDING MONEY ON QUALITY PLAYERS. - We the fans spend our money on the club, time the club started spending what we give them on players that will IMPROVE us.

Something that simple. So many fans have different views on wenger the board and everything else trying to come up with some massive campaign with loads of ideas just alientates people. And the masses wont buy into the idea.

Where as just SPEND MONEY ON QUALITY, there cant be one gooner out there who doesnt want that.

Oi oi oi, not Wenger out

We want the club to invest the profits in the squad and stop rewarding young mediocre players with bumper deals. But we are at the stage of organising it and if we get knocked out of the race, then things will progress.
