Agree with Augie that Reina is not the man for us, he is on the decline and would cost a fair bit I reckon.
Not sure about Cesar, especially if he has been dropped.

Re: The stinking shit transfer rumour thread
We should (tried to according to Bob Wilson) have signed him 3 years ago to give us the top keeper that Shez could learn from and eventually take over.northbank123 wrote:Reina is too good and too big a name to come to be back-up, but he's not good enough anymore to justify pieing Szczesny off.
Now there is not much differnece between them in ability just experience wise and I agree that a 33 / 34 yr old who will be no 2 but still push Shez for the no 1 spot is more suitable.
we have missed the right time to sign Reina.... Arsene knows

A couple of quick points -
1. Chesney hasn't proved himself good enough yet but he is probably the only young player that has suggested that he could be top quality in a few years. Because of this I am concerned that signing reina at 30 years old would drive chesney out the door cos reina could have another 6 years or so at the top level and no young keeper worth his salt and with any ambition would be willing to wait that long so maybe signing a keeper around the 32-34 year old mark would be a better move ? On top of that I would be very reluctant to spend the type of money required to buy reina when we have so many gaps outfield unless we intend spending upwards of 70m and if we had that type of money then I would prefer if we pushed the boat out on a top quality striker.
2. No more loaning out our average shit players - if they ain't considered good enough then sell them and if we can't sell them then agree some sort of agreement to cancel their contract. Hell we should ofer him to clubs on a free just to get him off the payroll cos there is unlikely to have (m)any clubs willing to pay a transfer fee and meet his wages and he ain't going take a big pay cut is he ?![]()
3. Diame was on on a freebie just 6 months ago......if he was so good why didn't we buy him then ? Am I right in saying that he is another African ? If so is he gone to the acn for a month in jan and whether he is or not, will it be likely/possible that he will be gone for a month every 2nd year ?
Hello Augie mate, just a couple of points, on 1) Are you saying chesney is our only young player or goal keeper, if it is player then I would assume you are not including wilshere who has 10 x the potential that chesney has. On a personal front I think chesney is really really average.
3) If Diame was on a free why buy him

Re: The stinking shit transfer rumour thread
England midfielder Jack Wilshere expects to sign a new contract with Arsenal in the 'next couple of weeks'.
The 20-year-old, who missed last season through injury, has been in talks with the club and his new deal at Emirates Stadium is reported to be set for four years.
And Wilshere's commitment would dismiss any speculation he wants to leave the club amid their current on and off-field struggles.
"I am talking to the club and I probably will be committing my future to the club in the next couple of weeks," he said.
"I know the team are going through a bad stage at the moment but that is like any team."

I am probably going to get slated by many on here when I say this but I already consider wilshire to be top quality so I am talking about all the other young players outfield included. Re chesney I agree that he has much to prove but I do think that he has shown enough to suggest that he can make it IF he applies himself, if he gets his head in the game and if he isn't forced to continue his education in a team with no tactical gameplan and who continue to hang their keeper and defence out to dry every fcuking week

Re: The stinking shit transfer rumour thread
I imagine the Wilshere contract will include a clause for Wenger and Kroenke to make mega-bucks from a sale.

Re: The stinking shit transfer rumour thread
Why is Jenkinson getting a new deal? He'll undoubtedly be on good money considering his age and experience, it's not like Barca and Madrid are sniffing around the kid. I really like him and he's done well this year but he's comfortably our second choice right-back.
As for Ramsey, this will be something like his 4th contract in 5 seasons. Outrageous how we can do that yet let Sagna and Walcott's deals run down.
