Watched the game at the Grove with my kids. Finally, we delivered a big performance on a big occasion. Everyone must get 10/10, even the manager. Sir Chesney was a massive call and he was fantastic in making his presence felt in the box. Ozil was brilliant. BFG commanding at the back. Coquelin was immense. Theo great, great finish. We've got a proper team here. Keep them together and I'm relishing next season.

Class. Complete performance, literally no chances for them and we dominated from the first whistle. Fair play, brave to start Walcott and it paid off. Buzzing.

Just fucking wow.
On my way home with a sore head and a sore throat.

Top, top class performance from everyone...including the manager.
Yes villa were shit, looked like they should have had a pen....but it wouldn't have made a difference.
Make no mistake about it that was as comfortable as a cup final could be and everyone of our players should be proud of themselves.

What a fucking day , don't know how it came across on TV but our fans were quality...there's were shit.

I'm one happy gooner  :D :barscarf: :barscarf:

We played absolutely class today. It was a joy to watch. There were absolutely no nerves at all for such a big game. Bellerin is going to be a star, Monreal was solid again and the centre halves both dealt with Benteke with relative ease. After a shaky opening 10, Coquelin was fantastic and the entire midfield and attack were sublime.

There's such a great spirit in the team that even the players who weren't playing were going mental at the end. It's great to see that and I hope we take the confidence into the next season.

Best all-round performance of the season bar none - especially given the occasion!! Everyone played well; the defence were strong when needed; Coq was superb (apart from that one tackle  ) and all the superstar talent turned it on like we know they can. Thus the reason we won and so comfortably to boot!! 8) :barscarf: :barscarf:

People say that, but at centre forward he was anonymous and actually got his goal when he was switched to the left wing and sanchez moved to centre forward. When he played through the middle he was caught offside too often and missed a great chance when put through one on one by ozil in the second half. Without doubt his movement gives the opposition defence more to deal with than girouds static/target man offerings, but at the same time wally is not a centre forward and certainly not for a team that plays one up top.

I said earlier in this thread that we had nothing to fear from either benteke or villa as a team, and today showed that up in spectacular fashion. We absolutely blitzed them and they had no answers - when we had them under pressure in the first half, they never looked as composed and organised as the mackems and Swansea did against us but of course the tempo we played with would have helped us there 8) There wasn't one area of the pitch where we looked under pressure even though I don't think that ramsey or wally were that good this evening, but of course this evening showed yet again that when you pay proper money then you get quality players and ozil and sanchez are proper top quality 8)

My views:

COME ON YOU GUNNNNNERRRSSS. :D

Another Trophy and winning is all that matters. Fantastic achievement this year to finish with another and to defend the FA Cup. We didn't give Villa a sniff today.

Everything today clicked for Arsene. The selection of Theo, the budging in of Ramsey, the selection of Carzola who had gone of the boil in recent weeks. Credit to Ozil for playing with great energy and enthusiasm. When we played counter attack you could see how valuable he is.

Sanchez. Wow. Delighted to have him, delighted for him and what a way to crown you first season. What a belter of a goal and he just lifts his team mates and the fans.

The defence with Bellers, Mertesacker, Kos and the ever trusty Monreal were all on point. Ramsey was selfless today and I can see the difference when he doesn't put pressure on himself to score. Delighted for Theo to score in a final, must have meant a lot to him.

This is for the gooners all around the globe. After so many years of hurt it feels great to have a competitive Arsenal again.

We're far from a perfect team, but what inspires you is progress, let's hope we build on this and go on to win more next year.
