Said on 26 July I would like Benzema....hope it happens, not that he is an angel but if it is him of Suarez his character is better.

I guess it would be a case of Real wanting to raise cash to fund a pricey Bale transfer?

Would leave Madrid with realistically just Morata up front from their senior players, so maybe we can include Bendtner in part exchange :D

Not to mention the fact he pisses all over Michu or any of the shite from Ligue 1 that Lord Wenger insists are 'super quality'......but neither of them will be joining

Higgy was NEVER coming
Suarez was NEVER coming
Rooney was NEVER coming

Di Maria isn't coming
Benzema isn't coming

Arsène Wenger says there is 'no chance' of Arsenal signing Luis Suárez

Arsène Wenger said that there was categorically no possibility of Arsenal reviving their interest in Liverpool's Luis Suárez before the closure of the transfer window. He has seen two bids, the second of £40,000,001, rejected for the unsettled striker and there had been some hope at the club that the situation could somehow turn in Arsenal's favour, despite Liverpool's refusal to sell.

But Wenger gave short shrift to the notion after his team's Champions League play-off first-leg victory over Fenerbahce in Istanbul. Asked whether the bid to sign Suárez was over, he replied: "Yes. There is absolutely no chance of that." Wenger, who failed with a £10m offer for Newcastle United's Yohan Cabaye, said that he remained in the market for a midfielder. "Quality-wise we don't need anybody but number-wise we are short," he said. "We lost [Alex Oxlade-] Chamberlain, [Mikel] Arteta to injuries and [Abou] Diaby is also out – three international midfielders. We tried to bring one in but we are working on that.

"You have to understand that there is still a long way to go. The transfer market starts for me now and a lot of activity will happen between now and 2 September. It starts now. It is like a poker game. People hold their cards as long as possible and see what is happening out there. In the end, they go for decisions.

"First everybody goes on holiday and nobody wants to do anything. Then, in many clubs, there are manager changes. They need to know the squad before they make a decision. There are many, many things but it is always like that."

Wenger was asked whether he was any good at poker. "No," he replied.

Wenger's quote suggests to me he has irons in the fire that have just been waiting for UCL qualification. I imagine most players that had been thinking of coming to us would be wanting that assurance as well.

As for players - I admit to thinking Sneijder is class and probably wants out of Turkey and would love him at our club but that's not the position we need bolstering.

Interesting couple of weeks coming up i hope.

Bloody great to get a result today!!

So weeks after I said Suarez isn't coming, the man who has worked in football for 30 years finally agrees. Genius

Glad to see that he had the AKBs duped though.....next stop Di Maria and Benzema. What a fucking clown

The bid of £40,000,001 (piss take amount) was a token gesture to appease the fans and he would have absolutely shat himself if liverpool had accepted the bid.

Have a feeling I'm going to check BBC after work and Ancelotti will have slapped down these stories.

With the imminent arrival of Bale it wouldn't be a massive surprise if they let di Maria leave but would they sell a second striker this summer?

I personally have never rated Benzema as much as many. Obviously he's a good player and the odds are that successive Madrid managers know better than me but I've always preferred the look of Higuain.

In the context of needing a quality DM, a quality striker, julio cesar for the goals and maybe a few defenders, I would suggest that di maria would not be a phenomenal signing - we have far far more important issues than a winger which is probably why cuntbag will sign one  :x

Why on earth would Benny and Di want to come to Arsenal :?

No No No! Mate the Beeb had a typo...We ARE trying to sign Benny and Di

That's Benny and Diana from Crossroads.

Image ... And if we do sign them they'll also throw in the ginger kid with the wheelchair - as a defensive mid-fielder.
