Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

Post by augie »

I never thought it possible but I am hating wenker more and more each day  I thought that we were clutching at straws in the latter hours of last january's transfer window but it is nothing to the shit we are in now  Welbeck ? Dont make me laff - playing against a league 1 side last night was a perfect illustration of the type of footballer he is....ran around looking lively for the first 10 minutes but ultimately produced fcuk all and despite the fact that he is an international footballer ( ), he couldnt score against a team 2 divisions below them   You have to wonder if it is an english thing with smudger....I fail to see any other reason why the guy would recommend welbeck to his former club unless it is a joke

In some ways this has been the worst transfer window in recent seasons - he spent big money on a star signing and also purchased to adequate signings to replace those who left, and it was enough to gain the support of some of the fickle fans who had turned against him (and I'm not saying that to have a pop at those fans). We all knew that we were 2 quality signings away from having an excellent squad (although le cocks tactics would still have derailed us) but then the transfer purchases stopped and we actually lost an experienced centre back as well. Now with girouds injury so late in the window le cock is left with three options - (1) he plays one of our existing players in girouds position (2) he buys a cheap/shite striker like welbeck (3) he spends big money on a quality striker. We all know that options one and two will consign us to more failure whilst option 3 is not gonna happen :( Even if he bucked his trend and spent big on a cavani quality signing, it would be at the expense of the equally vital signing of a DM

Right now I am expecting le cock to make 2 more signings whether they be on loan or full time signings - one will be a mid range striker (welbeck level) and the other will be a back up centre back (winston reid level) As someone who has begged for a quality powerful DM for the past 6 or 7 seasons now, this will break my heart  The sensible option (in my opinion) would be to buy carvalho and a back up centre back and then change to two up top so that he can utilise the striking options we already have - it would be a pipedream to sign a striker (even on loan) of the quality of a falcao, but the reality is that if we buy a striker then welbeck or kalou will be the guy and for me that will be a massive step backwards

I definitely think Wenger will look for a loan deal for a striker before he buys as this will be the cheaper option.
I wouldn't mind if it was someone like Cavani for instance but am still concerned that we're gonna be a weak squad for the forthcoming season.

The irony is that without Giroud's injury we probably wouldn't be signing another forward, so when he got crocked next February, as he surely would, we would have no replacement (as Podolski would have left too). I am not saying it is a blessing because it certainly isn't, but at least its a straw to clutch onto if we sign someone good (and keep Podolski). Also, why is everyone against Song? He might be a total cock but he's a decent player who puts his foot in and can win balls - I thought he was a big miss when he left. Finally, di Maria worth £60m?? Do me a favour!

David Ornstein ‏@bbcsport_david
#AFC unlikely to sign striker despite Giroud injury. Not definitive but current plan is existing options rather than buy/loan

David Ornstein ‏@bbcsport_david
#AFC still want CB/DMF (maybe someone who can do both) but likely to be squad player not big name as (esp CB) will be back-up #bbcsportsday

Exactly what I said.

If we were to start quoting your previous posts buddy, I think that you would find more predictions blowing up in your face than one's that actually came true

This is probably a little mean spirited but, oh, go on then...

We went from winning the league to not even challenging in 16 days! That's an epic implosion even by our standards!

Sorry, 1989. Nothing personal, mate. Feel free to ram these posts down my throat if we sign Carvalho and/or win the league. I hope you do! 8)

Oh, and I notice the Podolski sympathisers have all gone quiet since it turned out we were keeping him. What happened to all the sob stories about how he's being treated? Surely this must be a victory for the people! 8)

Fuck it. It doesn't look like we're getting anyone. Maybe that Raboit bloke from PSG but I doubt even that. The race for 4th is on!

Personally I dont see the point in keeping pod - he isnt a centre forward option and we havent lost any of our wingers in the past few days, so why keep him ? :?

Sadly everything you say about wenger is true and is yet more repitition of what he does and does not do.

Last season saw the departure of rednose - and manure going into meltdown, also the return of the special *word censored* also we saw man$hitty coming to terms with a new manager - It was an ideal opportunity had then bought the required players for us to tonk everyone everyone and Win the Prem - instead cheapskate wenger did his usual - and we blew what was a Golden opportunity.

Aand so now with manure yet again in meltdown - both man$hit and chavscum have strengthened in ALL the required areas - and guess what - Wenge rhas NOT - Now there's a surpise...also the victims - having lost the cannibal - have bought some decent players - the manager knowing full well he couldn't replace their star player from last season - and will also be challenging for the VT (4th) trophy....we already have players injured and what is the Fool that is Wenger doing...twiddling his thumbs and sitting on what is repoirted to be £100million..

I can think of No Reason to keep him on as our Manager - he is Inept and long passed his sell by date.

Like many on here I just feel totally at a loss about what else to do - but begin to loathe him.

What is both equally mystifying and maddening is that there are STILL some Arsenal fans who think wenger is the ideal man/manager to take us forward - when the past 9 seasons alone have demonstrated he is anything but.
