THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ah right....
Just clear my mind of everything.
The record breaking defeats. Inexplicanle decisions. The failed vanity project. The failure to compete. The arrogance, insults, incompetence, intransegence.
The failure to invest. The throwing of cups we could win in favour of Wengers virtual trophy.
The fuckin list goes on and fucking on.

But oh yea.......
Just forget the torture and humiiation we have and are still going through because Wenger was forced to abandon his principles by signing an actual world class player and a win over the spuds...

Yea just like the last 7 years never happened. Oh good - everythings allright now

What you mean is that we should clear our minds of just the negative memories ? Do you think arsole wenker would still have any support from the fans if his exploits in his first 8 years were wiped from the memory banks ? It's funny listening to the pro wenker camp advocating that we should forget the last 8 years of failure but at the same time they support the manager on the basis of success achieved before that time

For maybe a week or so I think it would be nice for people to just enjoy the fact we've signed a world class player and beat the scum. That's all i'm saying.

I think some people try to think too much about football at times. When we win be happy when we lose be angry, simples. Surely people find it tiring being relentlessly negative about their club, there are afterall much worse clubs you could support.

In other words, fuck off and support Barnet

we're not just ANY football club.

in the 70's and 80's i would have agreed with you, we lived Saturday to Saturday. three quid to get in and no expectations.

now ? - highest tickets in the land, 1100 quid for the season, highest paid manager in the game, and sold our deeply beloved Home in name of "progress".

we pay more, we expect more.

We expect the club to invest the money we pay in bringing quality players to the club. Even when they do that people are still moaning.

But we didn't - we managed to acquire 1 quality player, singular, not players plural and that is what was needed and what people are still rightly pissed off about - yet another opportunity to progress and move forward (ironic eh ? ) missed.

So, for the ...nth season in a row we are considerably weaker than 2/3 other clubs with little chance of winning a major trophy, so ostensibly nothing has changed.

Ozil is by far the best player a PL club has signed this window and he was a right coup but we'd be in far better shape if we'd signed Higuain, Cesar and a few other reinforcements and Ozil had headed to Dortmund or Juventus or whoever.
