THE PROJOE TOTALLY POINTLESS TRANSFER RUMOUR THREAD
WENGER KEEN ON PIENAAR
[quote]ARSENE WENGER has dropped the strongest hint yet that he might be preparing a summer swoop for Everton winger Steven Pienaar.
Pienaar is in South Africa preparing for the host nation’s World Cup campaign, which starts this afternoon against Mexico.
The midfielder is entering the fi nal 12 months of his contract at Goodison Park and has failed to agree a new deal.
The Arsenal boss said Pienaar was one of the best players in the top flight last season and would get into his side at the Emirates.
David Moyes may decide to cash in on Pienaar, who is also interesting Manchester City and Tottenham.
Wenger said: “He (Pienaar) has grown this year. “He would get into the Arsenal team, yes.â€

No but nor is it the umpa lumpa olympicsI have no probs with small players as long as they are a part of a balanced team and this team is not balanced. We have a bus load of fine technical players but we have nobody to provide the muscle when we dont have posession esp when we are playing at northern shitholes like ewood park
This isnt a new complaint amongst Gooners and I know that deep down you would like to see some physically powerful players on the teamsheet too

I am yearning for the next PV4

I know this, was just joking but i would realy like wenger to sign him BTW he can tacke as well and he is 6.0 / 6.1 so would add power to our midfield.Champagne Charlie wrote:Krasic is an attacking midfielder.
Anyone who watched during the CL campaign will know he's nothing like PV4.
But I still think that PV4 is not really a holding / Defensive mid - he had edu / gilberto / petit arround him - he was just all action mid.
Absolute bollocks of course....but it's a rumour:

Arsene Wenger is preparing to make a big money move for Lyon keeper Hugo Lloris as he looks to sign an effective replacement for serial blunderers Manuel Almunia. The Arsenal boss is known to be a big admirer of the French international and believes he can convince the 23 year old to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer.
The former Nice man has been voted best keeper in France two seasons running and is likely to be Raymond Domenech’s number one starter in South Africa and may well feel its time to leave France in order to further his career. Lloris may feel unfortunate to have arrived at Lyon after the club secured seven straight titles only to see them fail to seal the championship in the two seasons he has been between the sticks.
Spaniard Almunia and Polish international Lukasz Fabianski have failed to inspire confidence and even though the club has two great up and coming keepers coming through the ranks, Vito Mannone and Wojciech Szcz?sny, Wenger seems set on bringing in a new custodian and has earmarked £10m rated Lloris as the ideal man for the job.
