The way to get their attention

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I am as angry as a lot of you are on here and will be 100% behind the protest and will try and give support in any way possible. But I have been thinking and perhaps some of us do need (myself included) to tone down the level of our anger. I'll probably get shouted down for this, but we need support for our protest and going on .com and abusing them and calling Wenger a c**t isn't exactly going to win us that many friends, particularly with those who may be annoyed with Wenger and could potentially support our cause. I understand the frustration and anger, but I think it is time to reign it in otherwise our protest could be ridiculed before it even gets off the ground.

northbankbren wrote:AA23 good post. To get the protest really going there needs to be (as i said in that thread) ONE main focus. ONE thing that everyone can agree on. Not a list of aims/policies/ideas just ONE idea.

ARSENAL FC, NOT PLC WANTS:

ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB START SPENDING MONEY ON QUALITY PLAYERS. - We the fans spend our money on the club, time the club started spending what we give them on players that will IMPROVE us.

Something that simple. So many fans have different views on wenger the board and everything else trying to come up with some massive campaign with loads of ideas just alientates people. And the masses wont buy into the idea.

Where as just SPEND MONEY ON QUALITY, there cant be one gooner out there who doesnt want that.
for those who don't know, last year's income of £380m (to May 2010) was made up of:

£m
94 - Gates
85 - TV
13 - Retail
31 - Commercial
157 - Property

There was also additional income of £63m on player transfers (total - £443m). you can see from the gate figures (£94m/£443m) why the board don't feel they need to consider the opinion of fans!!

I get where your coming from, but the 13 from retail was from us. The 85 from TV comes down to the consumers paying for their sky subscriptions which is us, and the money is so high due to viewing figure again us.

But your rite, we are the last opinions they consider, which is why its time to make some noise.

Its been the general consensus that we will do both but once we are out of the title race.

The club do not do everything in there power to do so and that’s fact

You have to agree on that
Well said Mikey. I think that is the heart of this issue especially given that the club did far more from 1998-2005 and that still wasn't that much and look at how much more we achieved, so we know what can happened if they are willing to do what they can do.

Combine the fact that they aren't with Peter Hill-Wood codescendingly trying to say winning things shouldn't matter to us at all, Ivan Gazidis who is doing David Dein's job saying winning is nice but not heir main concern necessarily and even the Football Manager trying to re-spin our season each year when we fall short.

And its easy to see why supporters are frustrated with the Club's lack of effort and beginning to lose trust in the people running it.

''I want to see this team stick together and see if it can realise the huge potential that is there and IMO it would be a shame if AW did not have the faith that he has shown so far about his team.''

Staggering... how much longer do they need, they're not pups anymore, :?
i just posted on that thread. Dont think i will make many friends haha
Ha ha.. just spotted that, I didn't realise that the original thread was from 2008, Jumpers from Goalposts is on the first page saying that he is a Wenger fan, I don't believe that's the case now though.. :?

Nice work Mikey...

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
Bloody hell !!

Just checked that original post and that wasn't me - some bastard was using the same name.

Having said that though, I was 100% behind Wenger up until summer 2008.

Since then I have got to the point where I can't believe he keeps making the same mistakes and I really can't bear to watch him being interviewed as the bullshit that comes out of his mouth shows nothing but contempt for us.

He's turned into Frank Sinatra - brilliant in his day but went on far too long! I'd support anything that really let him know that most of us are sick to death of his arrogance and lies.

We are mathematically still in the title race. Until we're out of it, it would be insane to start anything big.

So apart from an unbeaten trophy run,3 league titles 4 FA cups, the most successful period in our clubs history, a world class new stadium, a decent-ish academy, what has Wenger ever done for us
