Stopped taking bets on hughes to be villa manager and while ago and that turned out to be shite. Then they did the same thing when he was heavily backed for the chav job  Sometimes these things are set up by the bookies to lure gamblers into placing money on bets like these just on the back of some unknown source  When I said gamblers I actually meant suckers

Surely several people dont do that unless they know something we dont and there has been no rumours at all.

Thought to myself it could be some of his buddies in Liverpool, with some inside knowledge or something.

I mean its insane for people to be betting on such a thing unless they know something. Surely?
It wouldn't take a lot of money to move the odds.

When I worked at a bookies novelty bets usually have a very low maximum stake, say £25, and all had to be phoned through to head office before being agreed.

I doubt that has changed a massive amount and who really bets on small incidents like these anyway? 4 bets totalling £100 would be enough to send the odds on anyone tumbling down I'd say.

Barton.. Where to start on this one....

This would be a huge surprise if it turned out to be true... to say he is not Wenger's type of player or character would be a massive understatement. Normally Wenger would avoid his type like the plague...If he is even contemplating signing him it would signify a huge shift in Wenger's thinking...
Saying that... Wenger's obsession with saving money or getting value makes me think that there may be some credibility to this story...

Whilst i have no issue with Barton's game or his character/aggression on the pitch, in fact i think it's just what we need, he is a seriously horrible c*nt off the pitch. And though he is playing the reformed bad boy act very well, he is a ticking time bomb that can go off at any moment...

I don't think he's worth the risk even on a free, but i wouldn't be too unhappy if we gave him a chance, it would be interesting to see if it goes spectacularly wrong or he turned out to be just what we need....

Don't all our young french players hate him as well?

I thought it was each other they hated.... :D

If Barton signed for us, our shrinking violets would be so shit scared of him they would be kissing his arse in no time at all...

Joey Barton is evens with Skybet to sign for us.

Would anyone else apart from me like to have him here? Quality player imo. Used to despise him, largely due to his off field behaviour, but seems to have sorted himself out recently and has improved a lot as a player. Would certainly add the grit we're missing in midfield.
