As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Certainly the constant songs from the travelling supporters throughout the second half suggests they still have faith in their side despite this difficult, difficult afternoon.
God bless you pravda, you couldn't be further from the truth!
The thought of the board doing nothing after that debacle yesterday is incomprehensible to me right now - if I had invested millions to take control of a club and watched my employee's put in an effort like that then heads would def roll Whatever little we know about kroenke, he does have a background in sports franchises so would surely know enough to realise that allowing this to fester will be bad for the long term future of the club especially when it comes to attracting new players or sponsors. If he takes no action today then I hope his investment goes to shit as the share price continues to plummet

I too would find it incomprehensible if Kroenke doesn't now take Wenger aside and demand he bring in quality players. Who in their right mind would look at us currently and think "that's the kind of team I want my product associated with!"
Unless of course Kroenke isn't in it for the long run...? Martin...?

Is it enough to pull him to one side and "have a word" ? When does enough become enough and the manager pays the ultimate price ? Is allowing him to continue sending a message to the players that shite performances from all concerned will have no repercussions ? Sacking the manager wont just remove a manager that is dragging this club down but would also send a message to our players that the days of them being on easy street are over and they will now be held accountable for their performances

Agreed. But can you honestly see that Board sacking Wenger...? I can't. But my point is that given Kroenke's history I'd say he is an alpha dog and doesn't enjoy failure (and more importantly repeated failure) too much. So if he doesn't at the very least get in Wenger's ear then something is very rotten in the state of Denmark and it ain't just the Danes!

the board haven't a clue about football matters any more than a stock exchange investor/speculator or gambler who gets lucky based on a "tip" from a mate.
bertie mee, gg and aw were all punts that paid off fairly swiftly but when the going got tough the board always came up short. aw should have fought for dd (the only board-member who had half a clue) and maybe the team would have "kicked on" after the cl final
aw's time has passed and we can only hope kroeke has the foresight of dd from 15 years ago. dein is not the answer to the current mess.......the game has moved on plus he didn't fight hard enough before resigning (probably hedging his bets at the fa)
Bring Back Pires wrote:Walcott was a true disgrace by the way. Who the fuck is he to chastise Jenkinson?
Walcott has been one of the worst players I've ever seen at the club, and has shown little-to-no effort since joining us. To suddenly turn around and slate the new boy is outrageous.
I wasn't a fan of Jenkinson before today, but anyone who tells Walcott to "fuck off" is alright with me.
Disagree strongly.
Walcott is a not bad player, though not world class etc.
He has shown a reasonable goal ratio since getting over shoulder injuries, and does well considering he is played wide right when I think he would be better more central.
He puts in effort and runs hard, but can appear "lost" at times. He is no Ray Parlour in right midfield, but then Ray Parlour was no Theo Walcott up front.
There is only so much tracking back a player like Walcott will do, or should have to do.
His energy should be used for high speed sprints on goal, not running all over the pitch like a Flamini.
The bust up with Jenkinson? Would like to know what was said because is Jenkinson so innocent? At least it shows passion on behalf of both of them.
My point is that Walcott has been highly ineffective for at least 90% of his Arsenal career, and any team-mate could've rightfully told him to "fuck off" on any occasion over the last five years.
However, they didn't, and showed him some patience. So, for him to then turn around and slate Jenkinson on just his second ever Premier League start is bang out of order, totally unnecessary and highly ironic.
Walnut is bang out of order to give stick to a rookie defender who was playing non league until a few months ago Jenkinson needs encouragement and support instead of abuse from some under-performing jumped up over-rated *word censored* who should stick to writing kids books cos that is more his level of intellect anyway

I think you are getting carried awaythere Augie. Walcott hasn't risen to the dizzy heights most expected but he is still a decent footballer being played out of position.
As for having a go at Jenkinson, he had just made another 60 yard sprint tracking back as Jenkinson had gone walkabout again.
Also you can look at it this way. Jenkinson gave Theo a right volley back and who is he to do that to a senior player and international footballer.
At least the pair of them showed some bollocks and passion unlike our captain!

there's no doubt that aw asigned a "mentor role" to theo as it was obvious jenkinson would struggle. scary thing is that aw thought it would work........as we know, theo's got enough of his own problems and needs a mentor himself

Maybe you are right there mate but yesterday where there was total apathy today there is anger, embarassment and total frustration
I dont rate theo (you know that) and I thought that again yesterday (esp in first 20mins) he showed a total lack of intelligence when in possession and his fear of evra shone through for me again
Oh I am angry today but I can find more credible things to take my anger out on than Walcott.
I don't blame Jenkinson either, he simply shouldn't be there and the guy kept going until exposed by the new Prince Clown Djorou.
Give me two players who care having a ruck any day instead of some of the other passionless *word censored* and if you want to speak of fear then I don't think you can get a better example of that then Van Persie standing over that penalty.
