Sorry mate  ....I once had a partly ruptured lateral disc and torn Psoas Muscle - this joins the front of the thigh (femur), hip to the ribs/spine - and was in fickin' AGONY....my ex used to say - in her ever so whimsical(NOT) way 'you should try child birth' :cussing: to which I would reply - at least it's over after (x) hours this went on for 3 months almost!..I'd been in training to do the London marathion and had to drop out, I was gutted. :(
Ive got a prolapsed disc (the new name for a slipped disc) in my lower back had it for roughly 3 1/2 years now!!! It has been fucking agony from time to time. Ive had my wife tying my shoelaces for me some mornings but got into work every fucking day as i dont get sick pay.... ive had 3 steroid injections that have worked to varying degrees. Strangely ive entered the London marathon (will hear soon if im in) and the training ive been doing has helped it as the doctor told me it would but still in pain every day :banghead:

Sorry to hear that Flash.

What eventually sorted mine - after I'd spent a fortune on 'specialists' - who all wanted to just cut me open and rip the fecker out! I went to a guy who is a McTimoney Chiropractor....a gentle form of manipulation of the skeletal/joints/spine/neck/legs/ fecking every bit of the skelton...and withinh 3 weeks (2 treatments a week) I was walking/sitting/bending etc....even sleeping...that's the worst part is trying to sleep - Sleep being the body's way of healing itself...also when we don't get good/enough sleep - we all get very cuntish..a bit like blahblah I guess....

I hope you ca get it healed and sorted mate!

Been told the only options are having steroid injections when needed or having disc removed and/or bones fused which is a major op and only a 50/50 chance of sorting out the problem and could make it worse. So just getting on with it and see what happens in the future. Thanks for the name of type of chiropractor i might have a look for a local one.

oh yeah and :winner:

Is it that throwing a disc game at the olympics? :?

But which disc are we discussing - a Lower Back Lateral Disc!? or a Discus disc discus...errr I mean discuss! :D

Or we could replace the idiom of the "Disc" with a "Dwarf" - Oirish are said to be the most 'throwable'...and little effort would be required as it would be a 'pleasure' to undertake such an Olympian feat!

dont go and have your back fused unless its the only option, its a fucker of an op. had someone in january go in for it, 3 weeks in hospital, back brace for 6 months and shes's still not right now. proper painful rehab.
