THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger is in a no-lose situation with this Ozil deal, too.

If he turns out to be a great signing, then he'll say he was right about only adding players to the squad with "extra special quality". All those sheep on the fence will suddenly turn back into AKBs, and the contract extension will be slapped on the table.

If he flunks, he'll point to the media/fans, and say "I told you so" - £40m signings don't make a great player, the price is in no way indicative of the quality, and that this is why he's never looked to tie-up these kind of deals in the past. All those sheep on the fence will apologise, say AW was right all along, and let him go back to his project.

He knows what he's doing, this Wenger bloke.

You miserable bastards need to listen to the wise words of Sir Patrick Barclay

"Patrick Barclay: Arsene Wenger's sweet 16 is well worth celebrating"

"Also worth remembering is that Wenger had become the first manager to take a London team to the European Final"

"When the going gets tough — and Wenger’s performance in the transfer market has conspired in making it so — the tough keep going."

ONE ARSENE WENGER......THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER

The man truly is a genius. He knew leaving it to the last day would ensure everyone would be eternally grateful that he spent half the money available on not strengthening the areas that needed it. And now this not remotely surprising development. Arsene really knows.....how to look after number one.

Poor deluded SteveO can blag on about his BBQ all day long but the simple fact is Arsene Wenger will not be manager of Arsenal Football Club come June 2014. Tick tock he's time is up. I plan on organising a fringe BBQ to celebrate and none of you fcukers are invited :barscarf:

So does this mean there is a Battle of the BBQ's on lads!?

I think you should both put up your menu's on here so we experts can decide which one is worth attending:

Menu's need to include:

What types and brands of alcohol (and the amounts) that will be available

What food you will be serving up (both veggie & non-veggie)

What the entertainment will be

What celeb's you can 100% guarantee will be in attendance

Rodders BBQ is contingent upon Wenger no longer being manager of Arsenal, so the earliest it will be happening is around 2017.

Entertainment at mine is a tribute speech by Patrick Barclay, watching Fever Pitch in the garden, jamming to the sounds of the Away Boyz, and the food and drink is dependant upon the length of the contract signed by our Lord and Master. Anything 3 years plus and we are dining out on the finest Argentinian steak and a selection of premium beers will be on offer, after the initial champagne reception Diamond Club style.

There will be prizes on offer for whoever comes up with best "One Arsene Wenger banner" and the Arsenalisation of my garden

ONE ARSENE WENGER........THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

BBQ....is Rodders having a laugh? BBQ...is Rodders having a laugh ? :D
