If you fancy an injured player you could do thataugie wrote:Tomáš wrote:Maybe a transfer...Arsenal is asking for 20 Millionen Euros, Schalke is thinking about it....rodders999 wrote:Stories of Podolski to Shalke on a season long loan doing the rounds now. Fucking hell.

Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
I find this Podolski story bizarre.
He slacked off in the new year, supposedly because of an ankle injury, and was a favourite of Wenger to substitute after 70 minutes, but had a respectable season.
If we are to sell him for a profit because a replacement is arriving them I can see the business sense, but a loan deal?
I think that would be second oddest thing that we have done under Wenger after buying Park.

as much as it is odd considering Pod is one of the few quality players we have it also would make sense as Wenker is completely wasting him,he doesn't fit in with our system, either stick him as a cf and give him a run or move him on,id love to see Pod be a huge success but under Wenker it aint ever gonna happenQuartzGooner wrote:I find this Podolski story bizarre.

Yes you're right. I read the Telegraph story which opens with that mistake. I'm hoping the rest of the story is equally dodgyRed Gunner wrote:Why would we sign a player for £10m and only give him a two-year contract?Sam59 wrote:Podolski won't make the German World Cup squad if he doesn't play. His contract is up in 2014. I can see The Mad One letting him go.
This is just getting so nuts, am waiting for the men in white coats to come and take OGL away.According to the BBC, he signed a four-year contract when he joined. So his contract should be up in 2016 not 2014.

IMO Benzema started his career really well but has lost his way a bit. If he's in the reputed £40m bracket, can't see it happening anyhow. As Arsene's transfer window has just opened after being jammed shut all summer, he's running out of options, unless he trawls the French leagues again.

Up against some pretty stiff competition.QuartzGooner wrote:I find this Podolski story bizarre.

I'm getting fucking desperate here if this is true. Wanker let Poldi on the pitch in Villa match only at the very end of the game which didn't make any sense and in Fehner match came also as a substitute quite late. So in that perspective it could mean that there is something going on but seriously. I thought that I have seen it all now from Wanker Wenker Funkel but no. In this situation letting one of our best players to go - even if there would be Jesus himself coming to replace him??????QuartzGooner wrote:I find this Podolski story bizarre.

Benzema isn't coming, no way he would leave Madrid, so will we let Poldi go and wonder who the fuck plays on his position. Yeah, I really thought I have seen it all now but maybe arsehole knows!!!!

If Real want 46 mil for Benzema why not offer that for the Cannibal?
Beni has fantastic talent and can scores goals from out wide but is very inconsistent. Not completely right in the head.

tbf he came on because Sagna had just landed on his head from 6 odd foot and walked off a touch wobbly and dazed lookingEd Hunter The Gooner wrote:

If AW wasn't so timid we could be sat here 48 mil lighter but with Higuain, Gustavo and Cesar with 20+ to invest in a DC and/or FB. Most of us would be happy, the squad would be upbeat and there'd be little pressure on AW.
Instead we've 70+ in the bank and everybody is pissed off.

The Pod rumour makes me want to cry. Yes I know he didn't take the prem by storm but a FUCKING LOAN! When will AW fucking realize that if you keep loaning your players NO CLUB WILL FUCKING BUY THEM. Is it any wonder why we get ripped off when selling players? Absolute farce.

According to Times Pod's contract runs out in 2014, which is weird considering we only bought him last year. Seriously a 2 year deal?

I could have sworn it was four years. Nothing surprises me anymore though so could well be true

According to Transfermarkt it's until 2016 so I think Times could be talking shit.Leyton Gooner wrote:I could have sworn it was four years. Nothing surprises me anymore though so could well be true
