As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Gawd, talk about short sighted. If we are still vaguely in contention on New Years Eve when we have gone through a really tough November and December, then get yourselves excited. My guess is we'll be bruised and battered 8/9th, just scraping through our CL group and probably out of the beer cup or whatever its called this year.
But until then perhaps I should join SteveO "One Arsene..." fuck it cba.

I wouldn't get too much food for the bbq, after Wengers made you eat your words and a bit of humble pie, no one will be hungry
I wonder where Patrick Barclay had gone lately......like two peas in a pod. I remember similar sentiment when we went to City last year and drew 1-1 after we'd already won at Anfield
Loving our form and being top of the league.....but there's a possibility of now having Wally or The King of Denmark at CF
Missed opportunity this year - a £40m striker would have given us more cause for optimism
I would honestly love nothing more than to be proved wrong (and I've been pleasantly surprised by Giroud in the last two games) but 9 points from 4 games isn't exactly a phenomenal return considering we've played 1 decent and 3 mid-table sides. We've come back well after the first day debacle but I hardly think a few wins has answered all of Wenger's critics.
The top 4 from last season have all lost 1 game this season so at the min we are on a par with them, but yet
According to some on here we are still shittier ,i reckon no matter if we won every competition going people would still be moaning no matter what. Now im not naive to think we are world beaters but atm we are on a good run and if people cant accept tht well then you will never be happy. My point i suppose is live for the now and worry about the next day tomorrow.

with the attacking midfield depth we have plus pace even Wenger would be able to come up with a formation that doesnt live or die on an out and out striker - you now what I'm suggesting right????

I think you are bit short sighted if you think we will be 8/9th in December, this side is much stronger than last year, Ramsey is finally starting to deliver, Jack will come good with games and mezut ozil is the best player we have had behind the front man since DB10. Our only achiles heel is our defence and thats what will stop us mounting a title challenge.
But ffs, theres no need to go the exact opposite way. We are a side that can compete for a top four place and who knows if wenger buys more world class players in January then we may have higher aspirations if not this season next.
No wonder there's a shit atmosphere at the emirates with twats like you around.

And if your aunt had balls she would be your uncle Arsole Wenker has bought TWO proven world class players in his time at our club (averaging 1 every 8 seasons ) but yet you believe that he will buy more world class players in january (note the word players as opposed to player) - some people are beyond help It's no wonder there is a loser mentality running through our club when twats like you appear happy to "compete for a top 4 place" - hope you can get a photo of yourself holding the virtual trophy aloft

LOL so your ignoring Marc Overmars, Freddie Ljunberg, Robert Pires amongst others established internationals. Where are your balls firmly planted on your forehead?
AKB's do my head in but so do you lot, you're just as bad get a grip moron.
Nut Flush Gooner, why instantly resort to name calling? You know people are allowed to have a different opinion than you, right?
Anyhoo, I'm delighted with our current form but only to a certain extent. We have not played a top team yet and were humiliated by Villa so I'm not sold on us now being the real deal. We have played well over a few games and Ozil is class and Rambo has stepped up. And Giroud is scoring and linking up well.
But the problem is that the squad is thin. An injury to Ozil or Giroud or Rambo and we have real problems tbh. Will Wenger address the thin squad by buying in January what he should have bought in the summer? Going on previous years I doubt it.
Yes, let's enjoy the current run but let's not lose the plot and start thinking this is a great squad capable of sustaining that run all season. We will pick up injuries, players will get tired and/or lose form. It happens every season and that's why you need a big squad full of top players.
Note the use of the phrase "proven world class players" - not one of those players were proven world class when we bought them and freddie, as much as I loved him as a player (in a non homosexual way of course ), was never world class at any point in his career. You seem to be confusing the phrase international players with world class players and for me there is a huge difference
Nut flush, less of the personal abuse please, or you'll be looking at a ban.
The real test for this very thin squad will be in November/December when we are playing twice a week in the rain and cold, with runs of games like Scousers H, Dortmund A, Yahnited A, and December is even worse. If by some fluke all the key players stay fit, surely they cannot play all of those games.
We've had a good little run of 5 games. I might start believing if we hit 15.
The only strengthening of the team has been Ozil, in a position we've been traditionally strong in. All the other areas are either the same as last year or even weaker.
Btw there are only three teams that have conceded more goals than us in the league at this stage - yes there are a few that have conceded the same amount as us but the point is that we are still shipping goals at an alarming rate and the geordies are the only top half team to concede as many as us which is poor given the clubs we have faced to date

Just thought I would give you a dictionary definition as you seem to have ignored what prompted my response. If there is a clique for regs on this forum, you don't need to ban. All I am trying to say is have a balanced view and the doubters are no better than the AKB's.
Yes I am a mod, and not sure of the point of the definition. You can hold any view you like, just don't call those who disagree with you twats and morons, at least not in print!
