The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Henry is a Gooner wrote:With a pedigree like this I'm amazed he's not our Deadline Day signing:

Straight from Pravda:

"Yaya Sanogo has joined Championship side Charlton Athletic on loan for the remainder of the season, becuase they're fucking desperate.
The 23-year-old forward spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Ajax, making a total of four totally pointless appearances.
Last season he enjoyed an unsuccessful period with Crystal Palace, with 10 outings for the Eagles in the Premier League.
A former France under-21 international, Sanogo arrived at Arsenal from Auxerre in July 2013. He helped* the Gunners to win the FA Cup in his debut season, featuring in both the semi-final and the final.
Yaya has featured a total of 20 times in all competitions for the Gunners, scoring once.
Everyone at Arsenal wishes Yaya would just go the fuck away; except, for some unfathomable reason, Wenger.
The move is subject to the completion of regulatory sanity checks for all concerned.

*Did not actually help.

LOL. Looking forward to the post-window gossip and the rumour mill tomorrow claiming Arsene came "within 45 minutes" of signing Isco and Lewandowski. Then we can add them both to the virtual 11 including Zlatan and Ronny
Hold on I can hear them knocking on Arsene's door! Quick someone tell Arsene to get his Dinkle out that rapper!

Arsene hasn't signed anyone so we obviously don't need to.

Tsk, it's so plain to see.

And so closes the most pointless, meltdown-free transfer window thread ever seen on the OG.

Ah well, went to sleep before the deadline end, but I still had a grain of optimism- a tiny one mind- that we might buy somebody worth having. I know, I know, I should have known. In my defence I did say 'tiny grain'. All we need now is Hector to get injured...

Bellerin getting injured in the next few weeks is as inevitable as Le Pie Hole signing a contract extension. Can't wait to see Messi, Suarez and Neymar running at Chambers, the slug and calamity Kos :barscarf:

If it helps he must be on around 60k a week so we are probably stil paying half his wages.

Probably doesn't help at all actually.

I argued a few years that watching the club perform as they have done in the transfer window, must drain the energy and confidence out of them - most of the players are no fools and they will be well aware that we needed to strengthen, so you tell me what kind of message does our continued failures in the transfer market send to those players ?
A lack of ambition in the club ?
A lack of competent personnel to get deals done ?
An inability of the club to attract the necessary players ?

Whatever way they see it, I don't blame a player for showing a lack of loyalty to a club that is selling the club short. I especially don't blame a player for leaving when he isn't getting games and wants to play in euro 2016
