I'm all for wiping the slate clean when a new manager comes in, and giving players a chance, but Iwobi is shit, and will end up in a few years as another expensive dud, hanging around like a bad smell and refusing to leave until he has ridden the gravy train to the end of his contract.

There is a big difference in the two situations, in that Elneny's new deal came in the last days of Wenger's time in charge, so can be put down to one last crazy decision from wanker. In Iwobi's case, how did Emery think he deserved a new deal? In a few years, Iwobi will be moving to a mid-table team, and then on to the championship, he is that shit.

He probably doesn't want to wipe out most of the squad at one go. How I see Chambers' and Iwobi's new contracts is that maybe the want to protect their transfer value and in Iwobi's case we really need a backup on the wings. Or, Emery sees some potential in them and wants to keep 'em around longer to be sure if they've got something in them or not.

Having checked out citeh and the chavs Dick now knows that we are more likely to be seriously humped in our first match rather than our second match

I'm enjoying the fact that Emery is stealthily going about his business under the radar. He's more successful with his previous clubs than any manager we've appointed since Herbert Chapman, yet few think he can get us back in the top 4. I think we're bang on certs for top 4. Our forward line is as good as any in the league. The midfield has been strengthened as has our defence. We're in for a season we haven't experienced for ages. I'm gonna sit back and take it all in.
