THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He means that having to pick two out of Per, Kos and Verma is giving him the same type of 'headache' as having to pick two out of Adams, Bould and Keown. Not hard to understand is it.

No but he speaks of it as though it is a good thing - when we had the 3 defenders from the TA6 era, picking two from that trio was tough cos all were quality defenders, but the same circumstances does not apply nowadays. For me, if you are comparing todays 3 options with previous options then you would surely be thinking "if only I had even one of the defenders from the TA6 era" rather than talking up how good it is to have todays tough decision to choose. Anyway you cannot just ignore the frequent comments talking up the quality of the current centre backs when trying to second guess his intentions here.

Btw his decision shouldnt be that tough to make - playing kos and tv5 together is not a good option as they are too similar (a comment I made frequently last season) so it has to be BFG + 1

oooooooo :D

I think it's a fair thing to say. Wenger is not comparing these players. The former players were better defendesr than this lot. He's just saying that even though these guys are good but not great they are of the same good but not great qualitee and therefore even though no-one stands out, it is still unfair that one should be left out.

I'm just trying to be positive Augie. It appears that anything less than this when Wenger has clearly shown that we are all *word censored*, might result in a ban and perhaps police arrest.

Not everything has to turn into a Wenger slagfest.

Has there been a single audible chant of "There's Only One...." at any games this season ?
