SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Mata is great and all but we needed a tough midfield enforcer (NOT FLAMINI) and a top striker this window and we are linked with neither. When I see Giroud line up as our first choice striker a little part of me dies inside

Still, Mata, Di-Maria and Flamini would not be a disastrous window.

Rather have Benzema and Flamini then Mata and Di Maria if I am honest

Mourinho clearly wants a quality striker and doesn't rate any of the ones he has. Given that the Rooney deal doesn't look like happening, even if we did manage to get near signing a really good striker there's a fair chance Chelsea would swoop in anyway.

Wenger had his chance to sign Mata and fucked it up, and wont ever admit to being wrong so theres no chance of that happening

Well we have now won three games out of four, in the champions league proper, still have a number of top, top players to come back into the team. we are in a great position. Why the need to spend any more money??????

Looks like we are being linked with 3 real Madrid players to help them fund moves for bale. Not sure how I like all our hard earned cash indirectly going to our neighbours? But its a bit of switch that we can go and get Madrid players still in their prime, not at the end of their careers (Suker).
Oh the signing of Flamini...if it happens...could close friend Cesc return???
Let the spending commence...

This article speaks some sense, it has really damaged what was a good run to the end of last season. Confidence amongst the squad was high at that point, two or three quality signings would have really pushed them on this season. It's a shame really, any other manager would have seen what was needed.

what would he know - he's been in the US all week, breaking down the play for NBC's new footy show.

ps. by big, does he mean taller than him ? Dicko was about 5.4 wasn't he ???
