For those getting carried away - and I've seen it here, on Twitter and from non-Gooners in the media - just look at the following.

Last season - 2012/13
Aston Villa (H) W 2-1
Fulham (A) W 1-0
Tottenham (H) W 5-2
Sunderland (A) W 1-0
Stoke City (H) W 1-0
Swansea (A) W 2-0
P6 W6 D0 L0 F12 A3 *POINTS= 18*

You'll notice those are the same matches that we've played this year...
Season 2013/14
P6 W5 D0 L1 F13 A7 *POINTS= 15*

So looking at it that way (and on the basis that we haven't really faced a major title rival yet why not) - we are actually THREE WHOLE POINTS off being on target for a season where we finished fourth and got just 73 points.

I'm sticking by the fact it's the fixtures AND NOT that we've improved!

Until we have played City, Man Utd.(although they are dogshit atm) and Chelsea, my opinion will not change from being against.
I would love for us to do well under Arsene, but he seems too value profit over trophies, and in football that is not enough.

When I go to the Napoli game on Tuesday I will sing my heart out for the team, but I will not join any Wenger chants at all.

Other thing that bugs me is he is stubbon and doesnt often have players back- why not go for fabregas for instance, what a mistake for a career to go to Barca. Why wasnt a no premier league return clause signed.

1) Wenger signed Flamini back this summer.
2) Cesc is doing very well in Barcelona. I don't think moving to Barca was a "mistake."

Im all for Wenger, new to here, so dont shout me out. Just remember the years when the club wasnt going too well.

The only downside is our inability to get other Premier league sides to loan or sell players to us.

Is this Wengers fault, or are other teams so scarred thet they dont want us to run away with the league

Even if he'd have been stupid enough to sign one, I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to enforce a clause like that for an unlimited period of time.

What do you believe the role of a forum is?

Surely, it's about debate, discussion and a vigorous exchange of views. If, as you suggest, people should only post positive comments, we would be left with a very dull and pointless forum. Did the sale of RvP, the failure to sign a top striker, the losses to Bradford etc, the failure to win anything for a very long time etc, not warrant criticism.

I genuinely want to hear all sides of an argument, so I can question my own opinions. So should you.

This forum is not a backing choir for AW, nor should it be.

"It's remarkable to think that just six weeks ago Arsene Wenger's methods were being loudly criticised by fans at the Emirates and over the airwaves. One major signing and eight straight wins in all competitions later and it's 'tout va bien' for the Arsenal boss.

Hmmm. Let's be honest, our current league position isn't down to Wenger's genius is it? It's down to all the other teams around us being shite/adapting to new managers etc.

Whilst I agree that the fixtures have helped and the situations at the other top 4 clubs has helped, I always go with the tennant that you can only play/beat what's on the pitch in front of you. And in previous seasons there were times we couldn't beat those teams. I think we've had a great start, the team have played well and some players have really stepped up. But I also agree that the real tests will be against the other top 4 teams home and away.

Given the situations at Citeh, Manure and the chavs, I think we could win the PL this season if Arsene bought in 3 or 4 top players in January and stopped wedging players into the system and instead worked the system around the strengths of the players and dropped the fucking 4-5-1.

Do I think he'll actually do any of that? Do I fuck.

We will win fuck all again as by Feb/March our players will be dropping like flies from injuries, fatigue and loss of form.
