ITS ALL OUR FAULT

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

They gave em away at chelsea for the roma game.

Please no. That is so fucking corny, it doesn't help atmosphere, it just fills the TV crowd shots with smug faces who got something free with their match ticket.

Agreed!

The Final salute and DB10 testimoanial t-shirts were for a reason!

Putting junk on the seats just gives the JCL's souviners to take away!

If you wanna go down the free gift route to raise the atmosphere I suggest a wrap of charlie and a bottle of Smirnoff on each seat!

That would be quality

What about open the stadium 3 hours before kick off, £2 a pint until 30 mins before kick off, then everyone's in their seat before kick off, pissed up and having a good sing song. It's too simple not to work.

DB10 has sat up there a bit, so has SWL Gooner. Ask them what they think.

There are plenty of genuine long standing fans up there, who sing and get behind the team.
Yep. For Everton and Hull, I stood for 60 mins (the steward's a good one) and sung my heart out, about five of us in my block.. ..it's not that bad BUT I do think cards would really help.

Can you tell me exactly what RedAction do these days to help encourage atmosphere in the ground (it used to be their main objective)?

Why in the list of contents on the left does The Rocket come above chants?
I don't know what they do but at least they're doing something. :)

All I'm saying is that some of the ideas here are great ones. It's easy to say we should do this or the club should do that but unless you do something about it or have a large backing and take it to the club nothing will get done.

As for the Rocket I can only suggust it's a forum and a meeting place for expressing new ideas and improving atmosphere and songs. A lot of the new songs appear to start in 5/6 which I could guess started in the rocket hours earlier.
Also putting a few scarfs (limited funds) on seats for one European match started the ball rolling. This contiued for European match and has now extend to normal match day.

Okay, we all agree that something need to improve but how are we going to implement this?

Before this thead gets negative lets look on the brightside, at least we're not bottom of the league and playing worst then Leeds!

Augie can I just state that one of the basic fundamentals of REDaction is that it is an open forum for anyones views.

As far as Cashley is concerned, their was an element within the group that felt as much as it would be painful to stay silent that this would be the best option. Now let me explain the thinking behind that idea, Cashley is without doubt one of the most big headed fcukers I have ever had the misfortune to meet. He really does believe that the sun shines out of his own backside. The idea was therefore that maybe by ignoring him and showing him how unworthy he was of our attention, that this would unnerve him all the more. By slaughtering him we were just feeding his ego as he knew that he had got under our skin and he was likely to play all the better for it. Thats called psychology I believe.

However once the idea was put forward the majority decided that they would rather coat him off anyway, and if you were there you would have no doubt noted that the REDsection was in the vanguard of the anti-cole abuse on the day. That's the way we work, ie majority rule.

Another point to make would be who do you think were the main instigators / helpers in the Cashley Cole notes situation, any guesses?

As a point of interest do you feel we should continue crucifying Cashley or have we made our point? Do we want to be as sad as the lot from up the road constantly banging on about Campbell, especially as most Arsenal supporters would see themselves as being superior to Spuds fans.

Somebody also made the comment about being the 'clubs bitches' or something along those lines. Well the long and the short of it is that if we want to get something done within the ground such as a card display (remember the 49'ers display) or a give away (remember bergkamp day) we have to get the clubs permission. We also do not have the funds to promote these events so yes we have to ask the club for its help. Therefore we have to play the 'political game' to get anything done. Sorry but thats how the system works!

I hope this helps answer the doubts etc expressed but if not keep asking away and when I / others get the chance we will come back to you. We are not perfect and don't claim to be and we want all of your ideas, come on lets work together rather than all pulling in different directions when we all surely have the same aim?

One big apology to make is to the person who has not received a reply to suggestions - no excuses but if you want to re-send the idea or comment to [email protected] I will make sure it does get answered.

It is such a bad choice.

Either use a traditional song like "Good Old Arsenal" as G88ner has suggested,

or even go back to "Right Here Right Now". It had some atmosphere to it and I quite like it.
Good old Arsenal would be perfect, but that would never happen with the current members on our board. What connection do we have with Elvis ffs :banghead:

"Right here Right now" was brilliant at Highbury, so that would be another good choice, or Kasabian "Clubfoot" we used that in the first season, and that got fans more up for it. Playing them at full pelt would have a bigger effect than "The wonder of you". That's more of a song for a funeral or a Karaoke night down your local :banghead:

I don't know how many 'official' redaction 'members' there actually are, but i'm sure they could always to with more help. The chants thread on here is great, and I have emailed suggestions from here to draw their attention. Someone got back to me sharpish and said they would try them out. I agree they do have to be in the ground before everyone else, even if it's a half hour. Take a look at Fenerbahce- their nutter fans were in the ground up to 3 hours before the game. Singing the whole time. That's just class.

The most important factor to me about creating more atmosphere at Ashburton is the singing redaction section, which is directly down to the club. It's 2 poxy blocks and it ain't enough people to scare anyone. The club obviously aren't interested in increasing the size, but then how many fans are actually communicating directly to the club about this? I'm not talking about supporters' trusts or action groups, I'm sure if 10,000 individual fans starting writing a letter a week to PHW, he might give in after a while. What do you think?

That was my idea too, however everytime I email the club asking if they have plans to incresae the size of the RedAction area I get NO REPLY :banghead:
