flags
Rather than concentrate on the flag issue, people should put as much passion into trying to generate some passion inside the ground i.e try to support the team & get the team going....on the rare occasions the crowd do get behind the team, the noise inside the ground is pretty impressive.

I remember seeing it now... Terrible decision by Arsenal. Wankers.Mikegooner87i wrote:If i remember correctly i think it was the game vs spu*s when we won 3-0, a lot of Cypriots took CYPRUS flags to the game, and thats when it got banned!NBM wrote:It was a whatnow????SPUDMASHER wrote:Yup that's right. I applaud you for keeping this vague and not mentioning it being a Turkish Cypriot flag.NBM wrote:Without getting into specifics, the inital ban was caused by one national flag of a nation that had occupied another being hung, and a member of the occupied nation that was present at the Grove had taken offence.
That should be vague enough![]()

Arsenal as a club prides itself on being inclusive with respect to all nationalities, cultural and ethnic groups
The crux of the issue is, if you are offended by the flag of one nation, don't look. If you feel that the flag of one nation offends you, you must catagorically admint that the flag of your nation offends others. The basis for the complaint recieved by the club is racist / nationist as opposed to colour and is wrong, simple.
The clubs response quoted above is hypocritcal in my eyes, being respective of all peoples blah blah and then banning any representation of them within the ground is crap.

Re: flags
Me too. the problem is the club seem to all they can to prevent this from happening. The best form of support around this is a visual display. Flags are an obvious one. Its also an issue with us because its allowed in virtually every other ground in the country so why not let us. The PC bollox the club come out with is whats causing this frustration with the issue.Nice_Guy wrote:Couldnt agree more.gooner Erol wrote:Rather than concentrate on the flag issue, people should put as much passion into trying to generate some passion inside the ground i.e try to support the team & get the team going....on the rare occasions the crowd do get behind the team, the noise inside the ground is pretty impressive.

and I agree conceptually with you but I can easily see how somebody thought just banning all flags as the path of least resistance
really why is it such a big deal anyway
people can take great big banners with eboooooe and songs face on instead

Flags
National flags are not allowed into the Stadium. Flags can be no bigger than 1metre square and they must not be attached to a thick pole, the pole can be no thicker than a pencil.
So no we cant take in massive flags or banners. Again why not. Its only a massive issue because the club say we can't. Arsenal may as well play their games at wembley you couldn't tell the difference between the two.

Yeah I agree with JD on this. Unless you saw a Nazi flag or something written that was pretty vile then how on earth can you be so aggitated to contact a football club about a national flag you saw at a match?
