Jade Goody

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Agreed, Spuddy.

I'm seriously pissed off with this thread because one or 2 poster who I actually like have really shown their true colours.

You don't have to like Jade, or even respect her... but for fuck sake, the girl will be dead in a few weeks or days and the hostility towards her if ridiculous.

Pathetic.
The fact that annoys me most about jade goody is the way she is conducting herself. She is selling her cancer to the highest bidder.
And for strictly personal gain.......spot the difference with these stories.....

Jade Goody's situation is a terrible shame but I can truly see where Pixie is coming from.

A few months ago this girl was a racist bully who was abhored by most intelligent individuals. Now she is being compared to people such as Marilyn Monroe.

I think the key word here is dignity. When your publicist, Max Clifford of all people, has to tell you to stop selling yourself then it is fair to say that you are selling the one thing you had left, your soul.

I read today that she might not make tomorrow. I hope her last days/hours are peaceful regardless of my thoughts for her.

absolute bollocks!

She'll be dead before the cheque clears so how anyone can say she is going to personally gain from this is utterly absurd.

Regardless of anyones feelings for her she is a human being that is dying tragically young at the hands of a cruel and evil disease. It is a dark day in this world when people cannot find an ounce of sympathy for her or her children.
I feel sad that I know such heartless people.

I don't think you can brand people heartless for having a contrary opinion to your own on this Spuddy. :?

I personally just cannot stand that a death is being paraded like this, and gleefully accepted by the woman who is dying.

On the contrary, I felt a great level of cencern and sympathy for that dog starved in the name of art. Much more sympathy than I feel for Goody. Maybe people's response to her antics says a bit more about her own personality than it does the people who are branded heartless for refusing to shed a tear for her.

It`s not a question of being heartless, spudmasher , just not concerned. She may be dying young, but that is hardly an unusual thing in this world. It`s the fact that she is regarded as somehow "special" because she has been on a reality TV show. She is still....well we all know what her character is like. Brave??
This woman was brave......

As was this person.......

Not to mention Jane Tomlinson.

Give it a rest, Pixie.

You've made your point, now go crawl back under your rock.

It's funny that you say you're unconcerned, as your ELEVEN posts on this thread suggest otherwise. If you were "unconcerned" you wouldn't express such hostility.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... you don't have to like Jade or respect her (I know I don't) but the girl will be dead soon and I'm sure we can all empathise with her situation, as all - or most - of us have seen a loved one deteriorate and die from cancer... regardless of your feeling towards Jade, your lack of compassion or, more to the point, your open hostility is very ugly.

Not a question of being heartless?? I beg to differ.

I tell you what would be heartless?

Asking if Jade is going to have cameras installed in her coffin so that people can watch her decompose 24/7 on a live internet stream.

The question would also be accompanied by a " "

But I won't ask the question.

Let me know when she has gone so I can come back out. And if I sound hostile it`s because I find the reaction of the media and a lot of people in this country ott and a depressing reflection on todays celebrity obsessed society. Given the kind of person she is and why she is known.
It`s tragic for her family but no more than that imo.

You are of course right that we live in a society where celbrity is everything. Even our footballers today are 50% celebrity. Everyone is caught up in it and i guess what you've posted shows that you are too.

Personally I don't subscribe to any of the shite written in papers etc. about individuals. I strongly suspect that near to 90% of it is utter garbage designed to sell papers, fuel egos and entertain the masses.

I take things to a more basic and simple level. I value human life above everything. People, both good and bad are human. All of us,no matter what our crimes might be have one that one thing in common. As such I view everyone as being my equal. Nobody on this earth is better than me and nobody worse. Their faults are my faults and I celebrate their triumphs. My humanity is what makes me the person I am. Sure, I'll laugh and joke and be cruel. That's who I am.

My feelings toward this young lady do not reflect her activities in life, they reflect that she is the most precious thing on this earth. She is a human being. Nothing more, nothing less. I wish her a peaceful passing into her next life.
