Good start against Sri Lanka. Kept them to 7-1 after two overs. :barscarf:

I am very confident, might be going up on Tuesday and will be attending the semi & final. Very happy with yesterday's win, bring on the Indians!

Nice to see South Africa go out of the 20-20 world cup. They always have one of the best teams in every tournament and bottle it when it comes to the big matches

Really? I think England have a mediocre team in nearly every sport and roughly reach their level. In some ways its thats better than having the best and choking

Well in football we've supposedly had the 'golden generation' which reached a 1/4 final in the World Cup 2006 and failed to qualify for the Euro's in 2008; in Rugby we have more players to choose from than anyone yet have struggled for a few years; the same applies in cricket - where apart from regaining the Ashes in 2005 (then promptly losing it 5-0!!) we have struggled to dominate even mediocre sides. I won't even start on other sports like Tennis.

Essentially, what I'm saying is that it's easy to have a pop at others about lack of bottle when we've had more than our fair share of under-achievers ourselves.

We've reached the last 2 World Cup Finals.... winning it in 2003, and runners up in 2007. Not bad really! 8)

Oh i agree we are under achievers but i think we under achieve because we plainly arent good enough rather than lack the bottle. In football we have decent players that cant play as a team (maybe Capello will sort that?) In rugby after winning the world cup half the team retired and in the 2007 world cup i think we actually over achieved by reaching the final and cricket i think we have a mediocre team that done well in the last ashes here but generally doesnt do great, their level? I'd hate to have the best team (barring Sri Lanka maybe) in a tournament like South Africa and lose also its not the first time SA have been acussed of this in cricket

Yes, we probably deserved it in 2003 but we were pre-tournament favourites for that one and deserved to be because of what the team had achieved beforehand. However, all the Rubgy experts would admit we were really lucky in 2007. Even as an England fan I didn't think we stood a chance of winning the final because we'd been so poor through-out the tournament and had been fortunate to reach it.

As for lacking bottle - look back at any number of penalty shoot-outs and you'll find the answer as to whether England teams ever lack bottle!! Oh no, I forgot - it's only them 'foreigners' that lack that, isn't it? Not us Brits with our great 'spirit'.
